Well, i was attacked by a huge slice of lemon cake earlier! However I have done a 20 mile walk today so I think I may have burnt it off!!! I also had a small piece of HM flapjack but otherwise have been good.

Hi all, may I come and join in?

I joined SW a week and a half ago and in my first week lost 1/2 (it was my 'star week' but didn't feel the need to share that with a roomful of strangers. Though I have told all of you!)

I think it is great how much of the stuff I love that I can eat, pasta, mmm!
My only problem is that I have a really sweet tooth and fruit doesn't always cut it. I like the options hot chocolates, particularly the orange ones, and that is only 2 syns but does anyone have any other ideas? I found a recipe for a chickpea cake that sounds worth a try but would like other snack ideas that aren't too high in syns.

    Thanks all!

Hi and welcome to the thread :)

Well done on losing 1/2lb on * week! :T

I made syn free pancakes the other day and i think they are excellent as the toppings are unlimited!

to make the pancakes take 1 large egg and separate the yolk and white. Add 4tbsp (as much as you like -til you get it as sweet as you like) of sweetener and beat until you get stiff peaks. Add the yolk and fold into the white.

heat a pan and spray with frylight and put the mixture in the pan and cook for about a minute each side or cook until the base will lift off the pan (the pancakes will be very delicate to take care when flipping over)

For toppings, i currently have 1/2 tub of quark mixed with an options white choc (2.5syns) sweetener ginger and cinnamon in my fridge - its divine! I intend to have that on the pancake with a chopped banana and a tbsp of toffee sauce (2.5) drizzled over. Trust me for 5 syns that is a sweet dessert to die for!!!
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..

Hi and welcome to the thread. I've been having chocolate cravings over the last couple of weeks and have been eating the Weetabix Oaty Bars which are either a "b" choice or 3.5 syns. I find the milk chocolate ones really hit the spot!

The other thing I love is the Alpen Light cereal bars; especially the chocolate & fudge flavour which you can have either 2 cereal bars as a "b" choice or they are 3 syns a bar.
  • Hello everyone:wave: Everyone sounds to be doing really well - hope you are having a great weekend!! Big congratulations to Rupe and Hope - I know how hard it is to get back to it when you have overindulged - it is what has sabotaged all my efforts so far but this time I am going to do the flexible syns thing and hope that it helps (not to sure it will though because of my mad food "issues":o) :Ttake it eazy and alliscraper - 5st 10lbs is fantastic!

I haven't been at the computer for the last two days so have enjoyed reading the thread and seeing what you have all been up to - I get loads of ideas from your menus. Mrs M - the rogan josh sounds lovely and I too would like the recipe for the syn free cheesecake if you have time to post it? I went to a hospital appointment on Thursday and was told to arrive at 10am for fasting blood test, followed by ecg and then in to the doctor - unblievably I had the bloods and ecg done at 12 and then didn't get in to see the doctor until 3pm:eek: In all that time I had only had one vending machine cup of tea and nothing to eat so when I came out I was STARVING. I thought I would wait until I got home (40 minutes drive) and then have something nice and on plan but just as I was on the approach road home I saw a parking space outside Greggs and before I knew it I was back in my car eating two sausage rolls and a pastie:o I decided to let it be "flexible" syns and managed to rein things back in so hopefully it will not do too much to my loss this week (fingers crossed).

    Food today has been:

Breakfast - nothing (was busy and forgot until it was nearly lunchtime)
Lunch - heated up leftover SW world chicken curry (2syns) and boiled rice, mullerlight and tangerine
snack - milkshake made with skimmed milk and sugar free crusha (hea)
Dinner - grilled sirloin steak, baked potato, mushrooms (with half a tsp of marg to fry them in - 2 syns) huge salad, 2tbs of low fat soured cream (3syns) and glass of 7up free.
Haven't had my heb so may have a toasted wholemeal roll with cottage cheese for supper.

Sian the Green- I don't know for sure but I think that the chick pea cake may not be free any more - consultant 31 or one of the others will know better but I think it is because of the blended chick peas.
One snack that I love is a chocolate options stirred into a vanilla mullerlight. I stir it in and then leave it for half an hour so that all the powder dissolves and it is really gooey and chocolatey - lovely for 2 syns - I might do one now and have it later!

Hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend!

After all my good intentions i.e. eating b4 I went out & only having good stuff while out, it all went pear shaped & I fell off the wagon completely :o. It started with having to leave the house earlier than I expected so had no time to eat b4 I went, I took a bottle of water hoping to starve off the munchies but son drank it on way back from paintballing. We then went on to his presentation where there was so much food, the hostess kept offering me food & I did refuse so many times until the pizza finally attacked me by jumping in to my mouth :p. This was followed by more pizza, wholemeal [:T] rolls [several] and loads of doritos [my downfall every time]. I did try beating them off with my glass of water but they were stronger than me :o. Then when we got home the millionaires shortcake launched itself out of the fridge and forced itself down my throat. I have now locked it back in the fridge and am staying well away from the kitchen just in case.
My only hope is I haven't undone all my good work from this morning i.e 2lb loss & stone award. Back to being good tomorrow :o.

The good news was my boy got coachs player of the year award :j and was a contender for forward of the year as well as being 1 vote away from players player of the year :T.

I is a VERY proud Mum today

    :TCongratulations to your son!

Don't give yourself a hard time. We all fall off the waggon sometimes (is why Slimming World is such a thriving organisation!) but if you are on the Plan the rest of the week you will probably find that the good days outweigh the one bad day and the end of the week will produce a loss!
