I know this sounds mad but Ive never used chickpeas before, Ive got some already in.
Do I have to cook them or use straight from the tin?
Tinned ones - straight from the tin. The dried ones in packets have to be soaked overnight.
(I expect someone has already answered this but I haven't read through)

Does anyone know why smoked and smoked peppered mackerel is 1 syn per 28g and yet all other fish (that I have checked) is syn free even when smoked like haddock, cod kippers etc?? It seems really strange, think i am just miffed because I love peppered mackerel and salad and assumed it would be free on EE, thankfully I checked first.
Deb, I wish I knew the answer as I love smoked mackerel. I just don't buy it any moreinstead I buy the cheapo packs of smoked salmon offcuts and use them in salads (lovely with scrambled eggs for breakfast too!) or sometimes have kippers. Perhaps smoked mackerel is just that bit too greasy.

Sorry for all the questions!!
I use plain yoghurt, it works fine!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

I know you can buy those Skinny Cow lollies but I made these up the other day and I must say they are quite nice @ under 2 syns each.
2 pkts Options/Highlights (I use the Aldi ones) - 4 syns
2 Muller Light Toffee flavour - Free
1 T Maple syrup - 2 syns (optional but adds a little something)
Put the Options in a jug and make up with a little boiling water (about 100 mls) to dissolve and mix with a whisk to de lump.
Add the Toffee Mullers and the T of maple syrup.
This makes enough for 4 lolly moulds.
Leave overnight in the freezer.
Enjoy.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Sounds nice- can I just double check- is T teaspoon or tablespoon? I think tsp but thought I'd best double check
It is a tablespoon. As I said you can leave it out. I use the Tate and Lyle Maple syrup flavour - not the really expensive stuff.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
