Thanks for clearing that up for me-Consultant

I wouldn't have questioned the yogurts if it wasn't for buying some new ones and working them out ;)- I won't be buying those ones again -I found them very synthetic. Having said that I sat down earlier with one of my creamy 8syn yogs (that I adore) I haven't had one for a few days and when I started eating it, it was far too sweet - I can only guess that because I have very little processed stuff that my tastes have changed -so i don't think I will be getting them again either :o-looks like fat free natural yogurt might be my best bet.

I have to say that I can't be done with counting cals and have manage to not think of WW points since I started. Im only 9 weeks into a long journey -but both me n hubby have said that we will easily be able to eat this way forever:j -just wish I had tried SW earlier...
once again thanks for that Consultant31

Thanks for the advice on the scan brans. I went to H+B and got 2 packs, they have a buy one get one half price on everything in the shop so cheaper than in class.

I know that it doesnt taste that good but it does wonders for my digestion and I think the reduced fat part of this plan is SLOOOWWWING me down. I feel a lot better after a good poo, he he

    TMI anyone?

i'm not sure if this is polite to post this link here,i am sure that someone will slap my hands if it isnt

i tried this last night,it is SSOOOOOO nice!! and i used Frylite instead of oil and turkey breast bits as i had them in, so i guess its free on EE? i didnt use wine,i used chicken stock cube with the water ;)

i ended up putting more veg in it,it wasnt veggie enough for me but i think it will be excellent with pasta and i have some left over for lunch today

    mmmmm SW!!! :j:j:j:j:j
  • Am going to make this tonight:
    Syn free Lasagne (serves 4)

454g Quorn mince (or very lean beef mince at 2 syns per 28gms)

    250ml passata
    Mixed herbs and black pepper
    1 red pepper, finely chopped
    250gms mushrooms, finely chopped
    1 large onion, finely chopped
Lasagne sheets (as many as you need)
454g tub virtually fat free natural cottage cheese
    250g tub Quark
    30g Parmesan
    100g reduced fat Cheddar
(The Parmesan and RF Cheddar amount to 1 HEB per serving)

In a non-stick large pan, dry fry the mince until browned. Add vegetables, passata, herbs and black pepper, and cook until veg are softened.
Mix the quark, cottage cheese, Parmesan and Cheddar together.
Spray an ovenproof lasagne dish wih Frylight and layer the meat mixture, lasagne sheets and cheese mixture, finishing with a layer of cheese mixture.
Bake in a hot oven (180*c) for approx 40 minutes until heated through and topping is golden.

Found it here - loads of good recipes on this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=180748&highlight=weight

Thanks for that Karen, there are some good recipes on there. My housemate made a spinach and cottage cheese canneloni and it was nice but a little dry; the lower fat cheeses just aren't very creamy and I am not sure how to get around that. I think I would make sure my tomato sauce was very thick and rich to counteract it or even stir in some low fat fromage frais! :)

Have you tried quark? It is really good for creamying-up sauces - it would work in the cheese filling and the tomato sauce, and is completely free.
