Hi all, pls may I join the group?
My husband and I joined SW today, determined to get fit before our 40th birthdays next year, have several stone to lose between us!
Trying to get my head around the diet, today is extra easy, (starting from lunch as I skipped breakfast - late for school run!), this is how far I have got so far:
Lunch: pasta, fat free dressing, red onion, baby plum toms, cucumber, chicken
Dinner: steak, noodles, onion, chillies, mushrooms (satay sauce 4.5 syns)
Yogurt and fruit
HE1 = Milk
HE2 =
Think I need to read this thread thoroughly for tips and read the handbooks again, looking forward to getting to know you all, donna
Hi there Donnajt - welcome to the forum and food optimising. You'll soon be into the plan, it just takes a few days to see how it works and then you'll be fine.
Your menu looks good apart from the missed breakfast, but life has a habit of getting in the way sometimes
If you haven't already, I suggest you get the magazine (much cheaper to buy in group) and have a look at the 7 day plan inside. There's also a few recipes here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=1948340&postcount=3 (scroll past the WW ones) and of course there are loads in the archives of the SW website.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
to update from my previous post..
i decided to make the Beef Madras (i swapped beef for chicken tho lol) from the SW Curry Feast book and it was absolutely delicious! And totally syn free!!I used my syns for poppadoms, half a mini naan (4) and mango chutney! Felt like a mega feast! I really
this "diet"
All hail to the sale!!!!!!
new beginnings...... new successes..0 -
MRSMCAWBER - your meals look delicious, would you care to cook extra and send it to me, I'll pay the postage :rotfl:
Gocat - I like quark with a couple of teaspoons of lemon curd stirred through mmmmm, just like lemon meringue, especially if you crumble in a meringue nest (2-3 syns depending on the make).
Jinnywren - don't panic about food that's already been eaten, learn from it and check before eating for peace of mind
The main thing to remember with EE is that you have your third of a plate of superfree veg with your meals (in this case, two thirds burgers and peas and one third salad for instance).
I'm sure the steak burgers you mention will have a high meat content so will be fairly low syn, but you could always make your own syn free ones and have them without any worries.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I'm having a go at MRSMCAWBER's stifado now...but I think I've done a huge error. It's in the oven now and after reading the recipe through I noticed I have put in pickled onions NOT pickling onions
is it a typo or have I just made something wrong with our food :rotfl:0 -
sorry greenpixie but that's really made me laugh! I hope they haven't ruined your dinner though.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

I'm sure it will be fine, greenpixie, if a little piquant!
WI tonight and I put on 0.5lb which I am happy with as I had been off plan for nearly two weeks! Been back on it since the weekend and I feel so much better for it. I had a sneaky weigh in on Friday on my scales at home and I think I had put on about 3lb, so I've obviously lost that since then!
My consultant recommended a SW eton mess of strawberries, 0% Total greek yogurt and meringue mixed up with sweetener. She said it works out about 3 syns (depending on the meringue) but apparently is really nice.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

I think quark tastes better (creamy:D) with sweet things like fruit and lemon curd.
Just tried some quark with jacket potato and gratedvcheese but didnt like it. _pale_0 -
*and breathe!!!!* -oh my gawd -I have just been frantically looking back through the thread whilst mutterning "please don't let me have put pickled onions"
I have this problem where I see number mixed up and sometimes my head says one thing an my fingers type another...I know it doesn't help greenpixey -but that heck I hadn't put pickled ....
You could try fishing them out and adding more sliced onions and possibly a couple of stock cubes to take the edge off -how many have you put in?
Well done on the losses folks...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
