  • Hi, we have a taster week this week and I thought I would like to do this... but use frylight to cook with not the oil
Am I right in thinking the only thing that needs synning is the sugar? I think 1tbsp of sugar is 3 syns so if I made it as a 3 person portion that is 1 syn each which seems very good? I love the good food website, and having the reviews helps in working out what is worth trying :)

Yes that's right so long as you are doing extra easy - it looks yummy :) Or you could substitute the sugar with sweetener and make it free :D I do this all the time in stir frys!

(PS the chilli burgers sound brilliant, please could you give us the recipe? thanks)

I'd like to second the request for the sweet chilli burgers recipe please :)(also the coq au vin if that isn't too cheeky) ;)

  • Morning Everyone!

I have now finally moved house and so should be on here a lot more regularly again from now on. I've moved into a house with 3 other people and one of them wants to get back onto SW too so I'm really excited about all the cooking I can do :D:D:D

I had one week holiday, followed by 2 weeks of eating whatever I came across, take aways etc as I was preparing to move BUT in the whole 3 weeks I only gained 1.5 lbs which I am really really happy with. So this week my goal is to re-lose that and maybe a little bit more ;)

    EE meal plan today is:

HEA - 250ml ss milk for tea
    HEB - 4 ryvita

B - 4 ryvita with lemon curd quark (can't remember the syns for lemon curd so will have to look it up when I get home!)

L - J pot with baked beans, mushrooms and quorn style bacon pieces with salad. Cherry choc muller (2 syns)

D - SW chilli with rice and natural yogurt. Mini twister lolly (2.5 syns)

Snacks - Cherries, honey mango, LO new pots from dinner last night

Keep up the good work everyone :T :T

    zzzLazyDaisy here you go:-
    They were:-
    • 400g lean minced steak
    • 1/2 red pepper finely chopped
    • 2 fat spring onions chopped
    • 1 courgette -grated
    • 1 small egg (you might not need it all)
    • seasoning -lots of it
    • 2tbs sweet chilli sauce
    1. Squish it all together and chill
    • then I divided into 8 -put one piece in the press (I have one of those lakeland ones I had never usedredface.gif) -but they will be easy to do by hand.
    • put 21g low fat cheddar =1/2 healthy A in the middle
    • crack black pepper over
    • top with the other piece and press down and seal
then I whacked them in the fridge until I wanted them...
then sealed each side in a dry non-stick frying pan and then popped on an upside down holey pizza tray in a medium oven until cooked through.

They were really meaty and juicy -deffinitely another thing to go on the "must do again list" -especially as I don't like burgers as a rule wink.gif and to be honest I think they could have stood more veggies in them as even though you could see the peppers -you couldn't see the other stuff
Here they are -as you can see I had salad and my healthyB 227g jacket potato

I will get off and find where I posted the coq au vin recipe -back in a moment :p

ooooh this burger recipe reminded me of burgers i make, let me think of what i put in....

    1/2 onion
    glove of garlic,crushed
    tsp cumin
    tsp oregano
tsp of paprika or chilli powder
    500g lean mince
    1 small egg beaten

soften the onion and garlic in a pan with a couple of squirts of Frylite,
add the spices and cook for a couple of mins

put the spices into a bowl with the mince and stir well

dribble the egg in and squash together with your hands

roll 4 burgers out and cook for 8-10 mins each side,i use the same pan i cooked the spices in!

burgers with a kick!! yummy and free on EE

i also save my HEB that day and have a wholemeal roll, and SW chips with piles of yummy salad!!

    Hello everybody,

Been MIA for the past month finishing my degree, it's been a stressful month, sometimes as a result I've been able to eat hardly anything, and at other times I've been eating almost everything, so will have put on a few lbs I think, but going to try and get myself back on track before I graduate in a months time.

Have had a quick flick over the past couple of pages, well done all the losers!

I'm not with my group at the moment as I'm a bit all over the place in terms of location currently, and I'll be at glastonbury for a week next week. So just going to try and stick to it myself for the moment and lose these few lbs I've put on.

Could someone with online access be so kind as to tell me the syns of Marks and Spencer's The Grill Lime and Coriander Chicken? I've only just started eating Chicken again after 12 years of vegetarianism, I only trust marksies chicken at the moment, and I kind of eat it like I've got OCD, :rotfl: i've only started eating it to see if it makes any difference to my immune system and tiredness, but I really quite like this lime and coriander one, really nice little strips.

    Hey guys,

    I lost 2lbs this week!!!:j

Would have loved a 3lb loss but it is still good!

Need to ideally loose 4lbs this week to get my 4st award for next WI which is my b-day and when i will be going to Pizza Hut mmmmmmmmm...... (i wanted to celebrate 2 things!)

On the subject of burgers - i know i'm probably making things worse for people - but isn't extra lean mince only free - i thought lean mince had syns - i'm thinking this cause i can never find extra lean mince when i go shopping (only turkey!) Sorry if i am the bearer of bad news!

    for example:
