I didn't get to weigh in tonight as OH's grandad has been taken into a hospice so we went to visit. We were there till late so I missed weigh in and OH's mum made us teas which was fish fngers and chips followed by biscuits! It was only a teeny weeny portion and I limited myself to 2 biscuits so although its off plan I don't think it was tooooo bad calorie wise! Only trouble is I'm starving now! I'd best go to bed, I can't feel hungry when I'm asleep!!! Also, weigh in night is treat night......I was so looking forward to a couple of slices of pizza and salad! Normally I'd give up on weigh in and just wait till next week but I think this time I'm going to go to a different one tomorrow night.

ok have to admit the asmuch free food and the calories intake has me curious now
how many calories are people actually having a day? have any of you counted them out of curiosity at all

and if so on the amount you have are you losing weight

it would be interesting just to see what everyones calorie intake is and the outcome xxx
Hi, sorry to go back to this, but I have been 5lbs off target for several months now, and just cant get there so all the talk about calorie intake etc has opened my eyes! I am going to stick to SW principles but monitor calories too and see if I can get there at last! Thanks for a very interesting discussion - I love this thread and thanks to all for inspiration and support!

OK, World Cup starts tomorrow....... what can I replace beer, wine, olives & Pringles with .

May indulge in white wine, soda & lots of ice, and crudites with a few v low fat dips. Looking for something crisp like though..... presumably (if I can find blade which I don't think I can ) I could slice pots really thinly, season & bake with Fry Light?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Walkers Baked are only a few syns, or Ryvita Minis if you like them? Or you could do potato skins sprayed with oil/frylight and then baked, wouldn't they go nice and crispy and be absolutely free? :)

I second ryvita minis. One bag is a HEB, and if you do original and green days, you get two HEB's. So you could have them without eating into your syns.

Dips - do you like quark? Whizz somw quark with cottage cheese in a blender, divide it into smaller tubs and add different things like one portion HE grated strong mature cheddar, or chopped spring onions, or sardines (free on a red day) Or a few chopped olives (syns but they go further this way) Try and do it the night before and the basic mixture will take the flavour of the added food.

If you google for slimming world dips you will probably find other recipes for dips.

Also carrot batons or small baby carrots are nice with dips.

Another idea - small baby potatoes, baked in oven, cut in half, scoop out centre with a teaspoon leaving a ring of pot to hold the shell firm, mix with HEB strong cheddar, a little quark or cott cheese, maybe some spring onions or chives, black pepper, put back in shells and return to the oven to heat up and crisp = finger sized nibbles
