jinnywren--- 2 weetabix is 1 heb your right and you can only have 1 if doing the extra easy plan, but if your doing red or green you can have 2 hebs and 2 hea's 1 medium slice of 800g loaf is 1 heb2 or 2 nimble wholemeal is 1 heb2 but if you use w/w danish wholemeal you can have 3 of them per heb hope that all makes sense .... and yea 350ml of skimmed milk is a hea or 250ml s/s milk or 28g cheddar full fat or lower fat is 42g theres also numerous laughing cows and cheese slices etc...

    Thanks Welshkaz.
Just one more question. If I'm doing Extra Easy what amount of Bread can I have if I don't take cereal.

There is a post on there by Elizabeth which i think is spot on!

The concept SW tells us that we CAN have pasta we CAN have bread, we CAN have chocolate but in a controlled manner.

When i was diagnosed with PCOS i was told (not advised.. TOLD) to go on a low carbohydrate diet - guess what - i wanted carbs and lots of them!! And i gave in and binged on carbs! I was literally crying over the loaf of white bread. It was hell.

When i tried going low fat the same thing happened. I got bored with salad, i got bored with veg and had a "urgh i hate salad" mentality as i couldnt have any dressing on it. I would be up in my bedroom almost crying when my dad cooked a curry because i could only have the rice and plain chicken! In the end i felt so ill I gave in, and consequently gained the 3 stone i'd lost plus 2 more! Its that weight i'm trying to lose now!

Now, thanks to SW i can actually eat a massive tub of salad (sometimes without a dressing!) because i know that i can have some extra light mayo and i can have some pasta, chicken or ham with it if i want to. I can have a full blown curry night if i want to! Every single day i feel satisfied after my meals, i hardly snack anymore and i have tons of energy! I also find i cannot eat the amount of pasta/rice i ate before because i get bored of it!! Which means i am slowly rediscovering my love for veggies again and other foods/recipes that i didn't even know existed! :)

Phew. Sorry for the essay - i got a bit enthusiastic there! Hehe! :D
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

VP that is exactly why I've never been able to diet before. 'How DARE they tell me I can't eat bread, I'll show them' mentality :rotfl:. Now I know I can have anything (as long as I count it) I don't want it any more. I also can't be @rsed counting stuff (I do that all day at work :o), so WW is no good (plus having to count fruit as points just seems silly). I grasped the basics, have milk & cereal as HE and one or maybe two cereal bars. The rest is all free food, unless I have a little v low fat mayo or salad dressing so I don't have to count. 19.5lbs off in just over 3 months without feeling deprived so well chuffed :j.

Finally bought this month's mag :lovethoug. Am in lurve with all the recipes, don't know where to start :)

TIE - hope you feeling ok :(

I can't find the couscous burger recipe - can someone help me please :)

I must admit this discussion this week has got me and my OH really talking about it this week. I think that's why I could never stick with WW I could never understand why I had to point fruit and so would save my points for chocolate instead. I keep telling people that SW is not a diet it's more about re-eductaing me about the way I eat. I don't feel deprived, I don't feel like I'm on a diet and 9 weeks in I'm still loving it. I agree with everything you said Vixie Pixie. I started off having the 4 yogurts a day for the first few weeks too. Now I'm down to at most 2 a day, very occasionally 3. Not because I felt I had to stop having them, just that my eating habits are changing and I'm finding other things to replace them with... (The Irish Diet yogurts for a start ;)) I think my portion sizes are gradually getting to more 'normal' person sizes too. I even have normal slices of cake every so often without beating myself up - I just don't eat the WHOLE cake now and I am learning that it's not a green light to go oh well, been naughty anyway, stuff my face. If that makes sense? You can have your treats and still lose. Like everyone's saying - it's teaching me a bit of common sense. (only took 33 years! LOL!)

Will go copy and paste the recipe from my blog gallygirl brb ;)

Will go read that minimins thread too :)

    couscous+fritters.bmp

    Couscous burgers/fritters

    • 150g couscous
    • 200ml hot vegetable stock
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 1 bunch spring onions
    • 100g Cheddar cheese
    • 4 tbsp sunflower oil (I'm going to try using a spray oil)

    1. Place the couscous in a bowl and pour over the hot stock. Cover with cling film and leave to stand for 15 minutes.
    2. Meanwhile, finely shred the spring onions and grate the cheese.
    3. Fluff up the grains of the couscous with a fork. Mix in the onions and cheese, together with the eggs. Shape into 8 cakes.
    4. Heat 2 tbsp of the sunflower oil (or your spray oil) in a non-stick frying pan and cook 4 cakes for 2-3 minutes per side. Place on kitchen paper, then heat the rest of the oil and cook the second batch.

I reckon, over 4 people that makes 25g of cheese so you could have these as a HExA option. They are so yummy and don't have the texture of couscous at all once made up :)

i made the oero's cheesecake today - they are half price in tescos lol

it was ok - i had to use 4 more than the recipe for my tin but can cut it into 8 so syns will be 3.75 a slice or 4 really - i also only used 2 tubs of quark which was plenty - and therein lies the problem - i dont think i like the texture of quark its quite dry and claggy
ive tried it as a butter in a sandwich ive tried it warmed through as a sauce and ive now tried it sweet and its always the texture thats gets me
daughter and hub liked it - they had cream on it - son didnt like it but he doesnt like cream so had it dry like me

overall not sure i was happy to use 4 syns on it

thats the results of the daisy jury :)
