    hello all!!

im been lurking for a while now and thought i would pop my head in.

ive been on slimming world since about september last year, inspired by two fo my friends and their mums who have both lost alot of weight on SW. i have a huge appetite and love cooking so SW works for me.
im doing red and green days as that what i know, but really i do green days with the very odd red day thrown in. although i do love meat, im a student and im fairly snobby about eating cheap meat ( i generally go to the market in manchester when i want to stock up on meat) so thing like quorn are amazing because they are so cheap!! (in lidl its on £1.59 for the mince and chicken bits)

so far ive lost 40lb (although really sticking to meals, its the snacks inbetween!! (comes with the terriory of being a student i suppose, lots of crap food from housemate and partys haning around...)
i still want to lose another 2 stone, but i havent put a date on it, (As atm, i just happy being slimmer than i was!) it will come off in time and this is a life change, not just a fad.

but still, im enjoying myslelf as i do it and thats the important thing!right?

ive had a really bad week this week! (the worst since starting!)
along as having my usual 10-13 syns aday, ive had:
    wednesday: rolo doughnut
thurday: LOTS of blu cheese and a slither of cake
    friday: 1/2 a dominos 10 inche pizza
saturday: 2x mini lamb patties, pasta salad (made with sour cream) parfait

oh...dear... i feel bloated and rubbish (isnt it astonishing how bad you feel after eating stuff like this when you havent done so for such a long time)

back on the straight and narrow today. will post food diary later.

your all such an inspiration!! good luck to you all!!

    sorry for the essay :P
    xx

Hello Rosieposie and welcome! I always put the "bloated and rubbish" feeling after naughtily indulging down partly to guilt as well - we are only sabotaging our OWN weight loss but I suppose we all do it. I'm still pondering the "rolo doughnut" you mentioned - I just hope I never see one  - a couple of weeks ago I gave in to my curiousity about Crunchie Rocks. It was even worse than it sounds, the shop was selling them bogof. They weren't even THAT nice after the first few but guess what - I finished 'em in a couple of days. Then I wonder why sometimes a pound goes on rather than comes off. It's just easiest not to have any such stuff around me.:(

I'm preparing a "superspeed" meal for a friend this evening. Not all the food is superspeed, but it's all either S or SS, except I am freezing a couple of lemon & lime WW yogs to have with some stewed rhubarb and ginger as a "tart" dessert. Lentils, green beans, smoked haddock, onions, more ginger, tomatoes, courgettes, peppers, garlic, spinach. Sounds like a mess eh? Well it's going to be lentil dhal with smoked haddock, and with ratatouille on the side; so you can see where the ingredients fit in. I cant decide whether to serve some melon as a starter or watercress/egg salad. I've just tested some of the dhal with some prawns in for my lunch and it's yum. Don't ask for the recipe, I've been making it for so many years and basically I wing it every time. The only essential ingredient is dried fenugreek (get it from Ebay), gives it that authentic Indian Restaurant flavour.

Gotta go, it's Sunday and "pub afternoon". I keep thinking it's Saturday :o
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

    Hi everyone :P

Well. Am a tad worried I wont be losing this week. Not anything major really just that feeling. It's the first week I have combined days and usually do a whole green week or maybe a whole EE but this week I've done a couple green, a red yesterday and today I'm EE I think that's making me feel like I've 'cheated' and that I wont lose. I dunno.

Went a wee bit over my syns yesterday - it was a bag of WW tortillas what dunnit! I would have been ok otherwise ;) only went over by 2 syns but still... My MIL made us lunch and it was gorgeous. She found a couscous fritter recipe in the Morrisons magazine and made us those with ham and salad. They were SO yum and didn't have the texture of couscous at all - easily adapted for SW too. OH says I am definitely making them for him again *g* Linky here page 27 for the recipe if anyone wants it.

Then when we got home OH and kids wanted pizza which our local shop does BOGOF so wgile they had that I was good and got a chicken kebab which was LOADED with salad and was delish so wasn't to bad. Today we had a pub lunch. I ordered 'hawaiian chicken' which was described as chicken breast, tomatoes and pineapple. What they didn't say was that the whole thing would come out smothered in melted cheese with chips on the side! Was good again, scraped the cheese off (came off in one solid blob!) and gave that to dd and also shared the chips between her and OH. Chicken was gorgeous with the tomato and pineapple on to and am hoping it was still free without the cheese. I synned the pineapple ring at 1 syn as it was def out of a can and just had that and the side salad. I MUST start asking places if they serve with chips and ask them to substitute with boiled pots or jackets. I keep forgetting.

So I don't think I have been overly outrageous I just feel like I haven't lost if that makes sense? On a side note - does anyone know how I can get a chargrilled chicken taste at home? We don't have a barbecue and I would love to recreate that meal (minus the cheese!)

Carmen - seems like you've done really well despite the odds.:T I would not have been able to sit and watch others eat Pizza - it is the one food that I crave whilst on SW!

I had a lovely omelette today - first time I've tried quark and I'll definitely be trying out a few more things with quark as the omellette was extra yummy and very cheesey with the quark and my 2 oz of cheese! Can you tell I'm a cheese addict!:rotfl::rotfl:

Do you weigh yourself at the same time of day??? As your weight will vary vastly at different points of your day.

How do you use the Quark for an omelette please - do you mix it in with the eggs or add on top?

Yes I always weigh myself first thing in the morning, before getting dressed and after visiting the bathroom.

I did have a crap Friday where I didn't eat much, would that have affected my weight?
