Thanks MRSMCAWBER xx Sorry to hear that you also lost your big sis to cancer :( My sis was 44 when we lost her to brain tumors in October 07. We spent months caring for her at home knowing we were going to lose her and it was so horrendously heartbreaking :(
My Dad (thanks for asking) has been a little sick with the chemo but nothing too bad thankfully. His next course starts on 26th May and we're hoping it won't hit him too hard as we have my brothers 30th birthday party on the 30th and he will be so sad if he's not well enough to go. Still we keep smiling and remain positive and pray for a better outcome for him.

    Thanks again xx

Good luck for your weigh in tomorrow!! I've got a pound to go for my first stone award. Who would've thought we'd get so excited about little stickers lol

Have just read your posts MRSMCAWBER and Karen23 - its a constant reminder of how important my walk for Cancer Research is today. I'm hoping that the fact everyone in my group (exept for me as i'm wearing the official tshirt) is dressed in a costume will grab everyone's attention and remind everyone about the cause!! :) I'll be thinking of both of you when i hit the 25 degree heat and i start to struggle as it will keep me going!!!! :)

    Today's food (so far! :p)

B - 42g Weetabix crunchy bran (nom nom) (heb) with milk (hea), cup of tea and 2 morning coffee biscuits (2)

Lunch will be after the walk and will consist of a raspberry, strawberry and melon fruit salad plus some leftover roast chicken. ( i will not want to eat much!!)

    Dinner will be Curry!! wooo!

Have 2 bottles of water to keep me hydrated! :)
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..

Wi this morning........ Now, am really convinced my scales on the blink. Last week sts on Sat, gained 1lb on Sun :(, this week if I go with 1st wi last week I sts but if I go with 2nd WI I lost a lb . The scales fluctuated this morning depending where I put them. But they were consistantly on the sts weight and only once on the gained 1lb weight so I'm going with sts :D.
Been a strange week with most peoples weight this week, must be the weather :D.

Anyway I have been 100% this week AND have had more syns than normal but still well within daily syns so can't work out why I've not lost, except I only have half a stone to go to old target so maybe why its slow.

Good luck to everyone this HOT weekend, plenty of chance to drink more water me thinks .
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

MMM, tomato pasta n sauce cooked up then a whisked egg poured over and cooked again until set, delish! :)
that sounds good! Actually, if making "carbonara sauce" for pasta I've always used an egg stirred in instead of cream, long before SW came into my life, it's lovely with the bacon, garlic and mushrooms - everything needs to be really hot both the pasta and the sauce, then quickly stir the egg around in it, you shouldn't even need to cook it any more, just grate some parmesan over .... oooh I fancy that now :)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

i live abroad and i am looking for some advice on how to count calories when things dont quite equate to uk products or have clear labelling-
for breaksfast i have 20 grms of the softer white cheese you get near the meditarean-its not quite goats cheese but looks like it-i have it with salad and a small amount of olive oil--40grms of brown low salt bread---
lunch is 117 calories of tuna and a soup with 100cals
    afternoon tea is a banana
dinner is a small amount of rice and grilled meat of some kind or vegetables
anybody clever enough to give me an idea of the calorie count on it?
i am told its too low but from what i see people have here it doesnt seem too bad--i do a lot of exercise most days at the gym and do some teaching.
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.

Someone will be along to give more help, but all I can say is that Slimming world doesn't count calories, it's more by weighing the type of food (eg full fat or half fat cheese at breakfast). The olive oil would have to be measured (small amount = half a teaspoon? one tablespoon? there's a big difference on SW). I believe bread is supposed to be wholemeal rather than just brown. Tuna is fine if fresh, in water or brine, but not in oil. Rice, meat and vegetables, if fat/oil free, are fine. The Slimming World Website, available to all (it's only the members bit that needs a password) gives you lots of info. You can check out a 7 day menu there, to give you an idea of how much you could/should be eating per day. Hope that helps for a while :)

PS it doesn't actually sound to me as if you are eating much at all :(

the bread is wholemeal - the oil is a half tea spoon at most-everything is healthily cook with low salt -the tuna is in water -i go for the lowest calories on all of them--i do 3 hours of hard work out a day and lose on average 3lbs a week -i would like to balance up my diet and get to a reasonable level of exercise so its maintainable -i have lost a fair amount in 8 weeks but still have the hardest 5kgs around the stomach to go--i was ill advised by a dietrician at the beginning that my maintenence intake was 1700 calories the same as a small woman!! i am broad man!
