It's not really running the apps themselves that drain the battery, but what they're doing (usually send/receive data using GPRS/WiFi). With better management of your radio hardware, you can get the maximum from your battery.
Android actually manages foreground and idle processes very well without a memory manager or task killer. Many people end up causing more problems and wondering why background tasks are not working when using application killers (I lose count of the number of questions I've seen asking why the alarm clock isn't working!).0 -
Hi...
So did they say why you couldn't have the 3GB booster - it clearly states on t-mobiles terms & conditions that Android phones do get it ?
Did you argue the point with them ?
I don't see they can dodge giving you 3GB - I'd phone again and insist they tell you why they aren't honouring there terms, and then ask them to put the reason(s) in writing.

I think its mentioned else where on this forum that you get the 3GB data ONLY if you buy direct from T-Mobile, and not through a reseller.
Its one of the benefits of buying direct!0 -

Many people have called T-Mobile and had this changed to the 3GB data. It's also possible to get changed using their Twitter help service.
Reason why only 1GB is given for Third parties is most of them register the phone with T-Mobile under the wrong code. It should be easy enough to get this changed by calling T-Mobile up. Clearly state the terms and conditions.
If you struggle to get it on the phone, ask for a copy of the terms and conditions that state the 1GB in writing. I'm sure your have no troubles getting it changed.
Others are reporting to get TWO free flexible boosters by calling up T-Mobile as well. The internet on Android come as standard, and isn't seen as a booster. So you can in theory have 3GB internet + unlimited landline booster for the same price. Worth looking into0 -

+1
Completely agree with you.
The idea that t-mobile have different terms & conditions if brought through a reseller is daft.

Just thought I'd post on here for some advice - ideally looking for the Desire but with a 12 month contract and no more, obviously I know that will be more expensive but happy to pay an extra monthly premium as I can flog it afterwards for a good price
I couldn't find ANY resellers offering a 12 month contract now so just rang my current operator Vodafone and said yes to the same contract I have now but for less line rental. Deal is:
Free HTC Desire (in black apparently?!)
600 mins
1000 texts
Unlimited data (we all know it's limited though)
12 month contract
£35 pcm
I said yes as I think it's pretty good, can't see anyone doing it for less. Plus selling my old Hero for a good whack, which will bring my monthly price to under £20 a month. Just hope the handset is black and not graphite though!
Does anyone know of any better 12 month deals? I'm tempted to call Orange and see if they offer the same or better.0 -
redkitty the Black Desire is exclusive on Orange I think, you are going to get a Graphite one as I have too with Vodafone. But just get one of those case-mate barely there cases in a different colour and a screen protector, sorted!0

Not quite true - they're trying to wriggle out of it using this, but there're no such T&C on their website.0 -

Half an hour later got another stating T-Mobile had got back to them stating no idea when the delivery would be sent
I phoned them this morning and got exactly the same answer. Ordered on 22nd June. :mad:0
