Out of interest, has anyone who is currently doing an NVQ ever got cheap software this was? NVQ's appear to be run by provate companies rather than Uni's, schools etc?

As you can install on 2 machines - I assume you can install one on a 32bit machine the other on a 64 bit one? (although need the correct disk for each).

Sorry to be reviving an old (but incredibly useful) thread, but I'm now looking at the 2010 upgrade options. Am I right in saying that these are the options:

    1 Free download from Microsoft
    2 £5 download from S4S
3 £8 disc from S4S (anybody know if they add a postage or handling charge to that?)
    4 £11 disc from S4S

Am I missing something, or are 2 and 4 pointless, in view of the better options at 1 and 3?

Where did you get all those prices from? And free from Microsoft? You do know that's just a trial.

I'm referring to the free upgrade to 2010 for those who bought 2007.

This thread's about the full version of Office 2010, not a discounted upgrade from a previous version.

Better to start a new thread if you want to ask about something other than this grabbit.

Thank you so much for your kind advice, but if you look a little more closely, you'll find that when this thread was started 2010 wasn't even available. It's a thread which related to the purchase of an upgradeable version of 2007, and many of us used the information so helpfully provided by bugeyed to purchase it.

I know this thread is quite old now but was hoping bugeyed or others are still reading.

I purchased the 2007 office package and I am elegible for the free upgrade to 2010.

I have logged into my software4students account but cannot for the life of me find out how to upgrade.

I would really appreciate any help. I would like the cd version sent to me.

    Many thanks

Firstly for those happy to download the upgrade (which you can burn to a disk - google on how to burn the downloadable upgrade)
To download the free upgrade - follow this link http://office2010.microsoft.com/en-gb/tech-guarantee/microsoft-office-2010-technology-guarantee-united-kingdom-FX101829423.aspx

To obtain the CD, I believe you login to S4S website to access your account and it used to be available through the account links - as the offer is running out soon, they may have removed the link already - in which case email the customer support team at S4S - they are really helpful and will assist you in the purchase of the upgrade disk

You must request your Office 2010 upgrade no later than October 31, 2010,

After the end of October you will not be able to obtain your free upgrade.
Freebies you don't really need can be given to your local Hospice Charity shop so they can raise funds they desperately need. Pass on your good fortune :A
