Hi BZ - your pencil writing has to be sooo good before you are given a pen license - some of the other kids given a pen license yesterday were 11!!
    Nice work DD :D
DH said last night, when I told him, that he had the same thing at his school. I don't remember any of that from when I was at school...it was so long ago ;)

Thanks CMD. BZ at my school I think everyone got issued with handwriting pens in about junior 2 but all at the same time. While it is motivating for kids like my DD I bet it is soul destroying and shameful for older kids who haven't got it yet! But luckily I have no younger kids to worry about...

DD had a blood test today and had special cream beforehand which worked. I want to see if she has anaemia. She was as white as I have ever seen her today

I took her back to school - and had a chat with the receptionist. My DD is saying her legs just suddenly collapse and she falls the last couple of days. I'm not sure if I believe her - but if it is true it sounds quite scary to me! She even got a graze on one of the 10 unwitnessed falls she said she's had today! She has been complaining of leg pains in the mornings for a few weeks but we've said that is probably growing pains - but I've looked online and apparently you usually get growing pains late afternoon / evening.

My mind goes off on tangents... one of my family member has hypermobility so worrying in case it is anything like that... or worse... OH is going to try and get a doctors appointment tomorrow so we can get her checked out. She is also complaining about deafness and saying she can't see well... so need to organise checks for that... If she has anaemia it could explain the muscle weakeness...?

I ended up telling the receptionist who I've known for years about me being in hospital and ended up crying myself. I am also worried whether DD has fallen out with her school friends and is she "putting it on" to get out of school. But she loves school work... She is very clingy to me and worried about my pain so don't know how much is that... Receptionist is going to get DD seen by the Learning Mentor to see if there is an underlying problem that needs dealing with...

DD arranged for one of her school friends to call around at 6pm tonight and play with her - which she did - and asked the girl to play with her at school tomorrow which she agreed to... Shame she felt the need to ask tho...

But after all that I ended up too upset to work until quite late so I went in work very late morning and have ended up catching up tonight until really late.... Not good really. Had nice lunch with friend from work at Costa tho which was a brief bright spot in my day...

I remember well being allowed to write in pen, and still love having a good pen.

In Senior School we had these really horrible pinafore skirts that had a bib which fastened with buttons to the skirt, which was compulsory in first year. After that, and I kid you not, it depended on whether you had a 'bust' or not. It was quite mortifying to be one of the few in third year still with the bib attached to her skirt:eek:But back then they probably thought it was good for you to be picked on.

hi Gill - tried to get her an appointment today but didn't succeed. Hopefully will get one tomorrow. At least I got my repeat prescriptions ordered so should be able to pick them up tomorrow. Should get her blood test results tomorrow or Monday anyway

Have worked reasonably well today. I delivered a good lively workshop today and got lots of positive feedback which was nice. I had pain around 7pm but that is because I forgot to take tablets at around 5pm but even that suggests that my pain has improved over all that I could forget at all! I've caught up my lost time now and am back in front again which is good. There is just so much to do all the time tho...

Got home late and found that OH had gone to bed without feeding the kids - so took them to McD to get a quick happy meal! I made myself salmon salad and jacket potato at lunch and so far have had a naughty tea of mandarin jelly with fruit in and half a mcflurry LOL. Not really in the spirit of my diet LOL!

    Hi guys

Well today I woke up really tearful and groggy and as if I had already cried for an hour :(so rang boss and agree to take a day's holiday. I think I have been worrying about DD in my sleep - and then of course also trying to deal with my own pain. OH took DD to gp and she has been referred to an ENT specialist:( to check out her ears and balance. She has an impressive range of scrapes and bruises this week from "falling over" but doesn't complain of any dizziness. The blood test results are not back yet.

I waited for my lamp to be delivered and then I went and took my sister out to lunch which was the first time I'd seen her since my hospital trip. It was good to catch up. We had a pub lunch - I love kickin garlic chicken at the Harvester pubs - and so I had a 880 :eek:calorie meal instead of my recent 440 but I think I needed it today. I made up for it a little by just having fruit for tea - but I had some yummy strawberries, grapes, blackberries, raspberries and mango so it was hardly a hardship. I was still over my calorie allowance but needs must and all that!

I have just set up my first even phone contract. I am getting an HTC phone for £15.32:eek: a month from virgin, with 100 free minutes, 500 texts and 500mb surfing. I've set it up to arrive next Saturday but that should be nice. I have no idea how old my current phone is LOL! If it proves to be an over-reaction to my recent hospital stay - I can always share my phone with other family members and let them use up any spare minutes or texts!

Is it just me or is that verified by visa thing just plain annoying - it took me 3 cards before it accepted me so I ended up having to use a credit card which made it even more irritating - all for the sake of:mad: @#!# £4.99! DS wants to buy the same phone but with unlimited texts and no surfing - he uses his ipod for that... Will probably let him but not done it yet. This would be all his pocket money and his money for picking up DD from school - but if he does his cleaning job he can still have money for spends....

My lamp arrived today but we are planning to put it away safely until my birthday. I bought quite a nice suitcase for DD's birthday today - it is purple with purple, pink and white flowers on it - 20 inch case with wheels and a handle for £17.99 from home bargains. She also wants an acrylic bead chandelier for c£15 from Mr As which I think I will buy her too. I also picked up various other bits and pieces for her birthday - need to try and tot up how much I've spent at some point and work out what's left!:money:

She is now nagging for a phone or ipod.... Wondering about giving her my current phone as it has a camera, music capability and could easily be converted to pay as you go as long as she sticks with orange... She wants something with games on and that she can perhaps listen to in the car. She does have £120 or so saved up :money:but I'd rather she left it there as I am worried she would lose an ipod. She doesn't know where her DS is for example. She would also like the next level up of DS but in all honesty wasn't planning to spend that kind of money on her at the moment... I don't see it as a necessity as she already has a DS if she can be bothered to find it and look after it.

Hope you are all keeping well.... Tirl - if you are reading I will try and reply to your email tomorrow....

Well been up a couple of hours now LOL! Having to put loads of cream on my face, hands, elbows and feet as on this diet/medication they are all drying out.

DD is as always campaigning to have a friend over - so I just got her to tidy up the lounge and OH hoovered. He's now putting my lamp together to make sure it works okay while it is still in time to send back if there is any problems and will have to hoover again LOL as it has created more bits of polystirine etc on my floor!

DD is now eating soup while DS unpacks the dishwasher... where is that exciting life that TV portrays??! Need to ideally avoid spending money now for a bit as feel still overspending....

Spent the day tidying up.... OH has tidied up his study - it looks fab now. We put my new lamp together - one crystal was broken but luckily they had sent a spare... Hopefully they will just send me a new one rather than making me dismantle the whole thing.... It is so heavy - we've agreed I can have it now but only have wraps up for my birthday.... It is now on proudly in the corner of the living room and fills the space perfectly... and looks stunningly beautiful!:j

I have now properly tidied up the lounge and it looks great... Just a little more to do on the bookshelves and I will be done. DD has tidied out the DVDs and CDs so that is all tidy to now.

We are now watching "how to train a dragon" looks good so far... Kids have lovely popcorn that I am drooling over... but not enough for me and not in my diet...

    Hi SavingH,

The lamp sounds really really nice. I get excited about things like that too. I got a new duvet cover (from the Next sale) today for the spare room and it really brightens the whole room up!

Sounds like a worrying time about your DD - hopefully it will be something minor. Am thinking of you x

Definitely not just you! It changed MIL's DOB with the bank! They made her go down there with proof of ID after 10yrs of banking there with her correct DOB?! Complete faffity faff. Kicked DH's card out the other day for Tesco shop, but accepted mine straight away, no reason other than Verified by Visa being ridiculous!
