Thanks BZ I did tell OH and DS that you would give guidance on security settings... I will ask a friend from church what else she uses....
Doc didn't give me anything new just said use tramadol more - that led to me losing another 1.5 off my working day while I waited to feel less "floaty"! sigh! and that was on top of the 50 minutes I wasted going to the doctor!
Having to use annual leave to prop up working a shorter day at the mo as struggling to work full days... frustrating.:o I still have a critical task I haven't done which I will have to do over the weekend at some point.:( It is needed by a senior manager first thing Monday....
I'm not keeping up at all at the moment.... but it feels an impossible task with my body completely conspiring against me. My boss and work colleagues are helping where they can, I am being given a lift to a couple of meetings next week and stuff like that but I just feel so useless! I keep experiencing brain freeze but don't know how much of that is due to that tablets and pain I am on....:o
Back to good news... Apparently my haemoglobin count is now 125 when it was originally 71. Apparently my actual iron level before transfusion was worse than I thought it was 3!!! Which was amazingly low...
My parents are coming for a quick visit tomorrow and taking us to the local carvery for lunch... Hopefully that will be nice rather than stressful. OH is going out tomorrow night on a late xmas do with friends he worked with years ago. DS is campaigning to have a friend over on a sleepover which I will probably agree to once I've thought about it a bit more... Need to get some food in for him tho b4 parents arrive... I could drop some stuff off at the charity shop at the same time... which would get rid of 3 bin bags of stuff I've sorted out.:pAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Also found that sugar helped to counteract the "high" from tramadol etc...not helpful to the diet, but maybe fruit sugar would work?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Well taken loads of tramadol today - which managed pain quite well - had loads of energy tonight:j even tho went shopping for a couple of hours earlier. I've packed and unpacked the dishwasher twice, and bounded up and down the stairs lots of times with no problem. I've also done three loads of washing... So I think if and when I can control the pain the energy level is definitely there which is good news at least.:T
My parents came over for a quick visit on the way to my sisters and took us out for a nice carvery lunch. :beer:Not good for the diet plan but very yummy! I was then getting rather bored, and in the end suggested to my mum that we went out for a coffee in town. Ended up looking around the shops instead. She bought a lovely really vivid dress from Wallis and I bought a nice multicoloured top for work from M&S:cool:. I also tried on a long navy and white skirt and another floaty top from M&S in black, coral and green but a) couldn't afford it and b) am reluctant to buy too much in the way of clothes while I am trying to lose weight. I was really chuffed tho as in per una today I was a definite 16:j which gave my self esteem a boost and encouraged me that diet is definitely working....
I sorted out my wardrobe the other day and in size 16 I have 2 pairs of Wallis suit trousers (never worn! and still don't quite fit), a pair of jeans, a formal jacket in teal and another in black and at least one long skirt. I've got a turquoise jacket that is an 18 but will fit better if I lose another inch or so. But I'd given all my tops away in my blitz of the junk before xmas - they were worn out anyway! I'm still in size 18 for most of my stuff at home but am edging closer to going down a size which is nice...;)
OH is out with friends - I thought it was round someone's house but apparently it is a meal and drinks so he took the £60:eek: I'd got out for the week expecting to use it on school dinners, parking, my lunches etc so that was a bit of a blow. It isn't in the budget at all and he hadn't prewarned me about his spend expectations! I suggested he could use his "pocket money" pot but he said no!!We'll survive a little irritating tho...
DS has got a friend round for a sleepover. Luckily I already had some popcorn in. I went to Asda last night and got 2 fresh pizzas for £4. They had some mint choc chip icecream out the fridge too but seemed happy enough. We watched Hitch together and now they gone back to DS's room and are playing wii and computer games... The friend's mother said they would invite DS in a few weeks to stay over there which would be fab! :jDD is now campaigning for her own sleepover...
I still need to do the stuff for work but that will need to wait for tomorrow... I was trying to read a magazine earlier but my head was too woozy from the tramadol... I think during the week I do need to minimise my computer activity at night as I think it definitely adds to my problems with pain as my pain levels are better at the weekendAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

DH's "budget" for a night out used to be more like £150!! JUST on drinks!!!
:rotfl: It was only a matter of time! :rotfl:
Good idea. I'd say the position you sit/lie in and how you're holding everything from your fingertips to your neck will matter to your pain... Longer you're in one place/position the worse off you'll be too imo
Well he spent £45 and said that was a dear night out - I graciously said it wasn't that bad.
Well I took loads more tramadol yesterday which worked pain wise but did set me off itching something chronic so unsure about it now... Altho think I will need to take some tramadol just to get thro the pain of showering and hair straighteninggilligansyle wrote: »Can't advise really re FB, but my nephew is 15 and has FB, he just makes sure he only adds people he 'actually' knows, but his privacy settings are set to 'lethal' .
DS is desperate for a facebook account but OH is really afraid of internet grooming etc I think he need to get over his fear... Still working on it.

hi CMD - nice to see you again. Well only got up at midday and took tramadol from early on in the day and had loads of energy. Did about 20 minutes on the wii fit - mostly balance type stuff and a bit of stepping. Deliberately gone up and down stairs loads just cos I suddenly can. Felt quite bouncy and cheerful today. Think some of the extra energy was from extra sleep - and not frying my brain by being at work.
Have done the washing and sorted it - major result! Kitchen is cleaned and tidied. Did about 3 dishwasher loads today - I think some of that is the juicer tho lol! Stuck to my diet really well today so hoping for a positive result tomorrow. I also looked in our coats cupboard and found a load of jackets that I had forgotten about - partly because I was too fat for them. Tried them all on and they all look good - majorly slimming effect too so have put them back in my main wardrobe for wearing to work. Was able to wear my size 16 jeans for the first time today too which really cheered me up!
Tomorrow is potentially a long day - as it an away day but I am being driven there and back so should be okay. I think I just feel bombarded at work by loads of decisions which I am struggling to make at the mo - but tomorrow I shouldn't really have that. Tuesday is not bad either as that is a team meeting followed by a workshop I am giving... but I've given it lots of times before and find it easy. And that will be almost half the week gone so feeling a bit more positive. I also now have a 3 hour or so cushion so if I do need to leave work early due to pain or appointments I am then not trying to "make up" the time later...
My budget is seriously messed up at the moment as spending way too much on my food and new diet programme but not worrying about it as my health is most important for now. Not overspending on other categories so in general doing reasonably well...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well I'm up - dressed - wearing my new top. I've run the straighteners over my hair, cleaned teeth, done make up and am eating breakfast all by 8am pretty good going I reckon!
My arm was okay when I got up but took all my painkillers anyway as didn't want the pain to hit and then have a 30 minute wait for the tablets to kick in
The tramadol is making me itch something chronic - taking antihistamines but it isn't making any difference. If it carries on will need to go back to the doc. It didn't do it on 1-2 tablets a day but at 6 it does...
I am expecting to get some exercise in the open air later - will be interesting to see how I get on. I got back down to last Wednesday's weight today which means I still haven't lost my 2lbs for this week. I am shrinking in inches terms tho so won't complain too much. Hopefully I'll lose it in the next couple of days....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I forget how old your DS is but my DS, 14 & my DD, 8 (sshhh!) both have Facebook.
I originally did not want DS to have it but my ex/his biological father let him set up an account and I found out when someone else told me.
You can imagine the rows :eek:
Anyway he is allowed it as long as I know his password, I log in regularly and also check the email account it is linked to - this is to check personal messages in case he has deleted them from his account. Also every so often I check his friends and cull them for him :rotfl:
Unfortunately my DS has issues with sending messages on Facebook that come across as bullying but which he thinks were fine - I'm not sure if he has done it deliberate or whether he is just being a typical teenager and being a bit too cocky thinking he is being funny when he is not
DD is allowed on with a fake date of birth and she is really good, she asks me before she adds any friends and lets me read her messages whereas DS can sometimes be sneaky.
Hmmm decisions, decisions
