    hi bz, jellie and gill!

Feel shattered today... I need to ideally do a couple of hours work now!! As I have a really complex meeting tomorrow which I only found out about at the end of today and I am at a funeral in the morning!

I was feeling really stressed so went to the gym with DS in the hope that it would release those lovely endorphins - I think it has helped but I still need to do the work! Hopefully I can use a previous meeting outline as a base but not sure I have access to all the info I need which is annoying!

Oh well the sooner I get the work done the better! Started reading the secret too....

  • Oh - and I did look after myself a little today... I felt like I was coming down with something... so when I passed a cheap carvery - I stopped and had a fab meal for about £5.50 including drink... That did brighten up my day and help me keep going...

Did 45 minutes in the gym today - all of which was at a heart rate of between 130 and 155 so hoping that it has a positive impact on my weight! DS managed 45 minutes on the cross trainer - I was so proud of him!

    Thanks Tirl

Well the funeral was today... It went okay altho I really felt the vicar could have put more effort in! The wake was okay too but I had to work this afternoon and had a horrible meeting to do so it has been rather a pants day to be honest!

I am also wiped from my efforts last night which I felt was significantly underappreciated too so there we go... Off to the gym shortly in the hope it releases some of the aggression and negativity I am currently feeling!

  • Hi SH

sorry your day has been so awful, funerals are bad enough but if you feel that it could have been done better it leaves you feeling worse.

My poor dad always joked that we should get rent-a-vicar for him as he only went to church for weddings etc. For his funeral the regular vicar, who did at least know the family, was on holiday and we got the stand in, who looked just like Mr Bean and drove to the cemetery in a VW beetle, wearing a Doctor Who scarf.

You go work off that aggression, hope you feel better for it. Do they have punch bags? Or is it just the feeling that all your work didn't get appreciated.

    Thanks Gill!

Well we went to the gym - DS and I did our proper programme while OH took DD swimming.... We then joined DD and OH for about 20 mins at the end... I was struggling with my programme and talked to the fitness instructor about it - he watched me do the worst bit - made me do some more - and told me I was just lazy there was no health reason I couldn't do it! BUSTED:rotfl:

I was impressed tho as he spent some time with DS motivating him too which was nice! Apparently DS can do it the cross trainer at the same speed he does so his fitness level is good it is just his weight that is out of sync at the moment... it is an unexpected benefit tho that DS is getting a positive role model from the gym trainer who has taken an interest in his programme... He was encouraging DS to cycle to the gym on top of his programme so he isn't waiting for us to get home either....

I do feel much better for having been tho - and finally believe it about those lovely little endorphins being released...

Well I caught up on MG's diary yesterday - and read this weeks challenges... Hopefully I can make a good effort at that at the weekend...

I like the "me" time challenge... The 250 people challenge I am probably already half way there in terms of having names - whether I would have the guts to contact them is a completely different question. I need to write a new blog for my website and then consider linking it to my linked in page that could definitely help! Challenges, challenges....

I still feel a bit subdued - and tired from the gym but it really helps being able to control my own work pattern as it means I can go into work when I am more awake etc... it helps overcome that I want a duvet day feeling! Speaking of which.... I really must get on!!

Sorry about the car Bigzippy. I hope it isn't as bad as feared.
    Cheers Jellie.
It is pretty much as bad as I feared. :o It needs about £900 of work doing to get it back on the road...but it's worth less than that even running, so we're now looking at seeing how much someone like (dare I say it!) webuyanycar.com will/do offer... and then it's a matter of cobbling together some money (from somewhere...!) and buying something else (on a wing and a prayer that it won't go the same way!)...

My folks are trying to really help out though, and I'm not sure how much to accept. I've always been fiercely independant, for a start, and I don't want to be any more indebted to them than I already am... plus I'm not sure how what they're offering will actually work out, in practice...:o

Glad DS is motivated and doing well :) I could see a diff in him when I saw him :)
Lol @ you being busted :rotfl: and that it's making you feel better going :)

    hi BZ

Sorry to hear about the car... There are no guarantees with cars.. Their cars are on the way out so if I were you I would be wary of that kind of offer... £4k ish I would have thought you need realistically to get something reliable...

It was a struggle getting going for me this morning but this afternoon went well. Now only 1.5 hours down...
