Good work in the gym SH! We've just joined the gym as well, last night in fact! Had to pay upfront for the year to get the best deal. Need to go at least 3 times a week to make it worthwhile. Mine is going to be 2/3 times swim and one spin and classes as and when. Am training to do a sprint triathlon now.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Hi Tirl - hope you get your money's worth - I am sure you will.
I am full of cold along with the rest of the family but I still went to work today. DS is on anti-biotics and has had 2 more days off school as he has an ear infection again (confirmed by doctor). I went to the doctor's but it was annoying - they want me to come off my sleeping tablets - and said if I can't I am basically an addict - and I pointed out they hadn't referred me to a sleep clinic in 9 months and that might have been a better route forward in the first place. To which I got the response there was no sleep clinic round here - not my fault tho is it! I was really annoyed - he didn't listen at all and had a student doctor in - I basically told him that I thought he was aggressive and not listening - for good or bad I am getting better at standing up for myself at the moment. I am going to see one of my favourite doctors in a couple of weeks time - hopefully she may actually listen rather than just dictate!
Had an okay day at work other than being ill. Diet went down the pan today - had greasy chips and pie and then lots of kit kats! whoops! I have written a blog for my website tho and published links to it on facebook and twitter.... which is something at least. I based it on a presentation I gave earlier in the week... Still waiting for work to sign off its okay to have second job/business before I can really put active marketing in place above doing blogging tho....
I do think I may use some of my upcoming holiday to do some business planning and get workshop materials together and plan a date to run a course.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well done on actually biting the bullet and putting the forms in. Unless you are doing something that is actual conflict, it would be rare for them to refuse the permission, but its as well to be sure. Friend who worked for a housing association was once refused permission to work in a bar in case she saw some of her tenants drunk or fighting and it later caused a problem for her.

Hi Gill - yes I am pretty sure that I could fight any attempt to stop my business as an unlawful "restraint of trade". I am now up to 142 connections on linked in so pleased with that. One person recently connected with me that I worked with about 6 or 7 years ago and she now has 2 kids I didn't know about and is in the process of setting up in business so we are going to meet up. I have also got one of my managers to write me a cracking recommendation so hopefully that will help me too.
I really need to evaluate the best way forward from here. I am definitely going to buy the 5 days holiday - and if I can get business to take off I will apply to work part time - so I am going back to that plan. I also need to investigate training courses too and get some marketing advice.
I ordered some very posh - read expensive - business cards last night but they will be memorable so now I just need to find a way to start using them.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Someone else wrote me another recommendation on linked in and I've increased my connections some more so pleased with that.
I've also nearly written 2000 words of a course outline / ebook / future book so pleased with that
I have also ordered a whole load of things from Amazon which I will need if I am going to be a coach / trainer / speaker etc Exciting times. I've also posted on facebook initially to see if anyone in that group is interested in coming to a workshop. I also need to identify some helpers particuarly for the first 2 workshops so things could get interesting! I have some names in mind so will need to approach them. I am also wanted to put together some video material for youtube or similar of me doing coaching so need to work out how to do that. I also want to record my voice and that of my husband explaining different elements of what I / we do so it makes it more interesting to listen to.... Oh and still do my day job well!
On a more mundane note also had to change 2 tyres today but knocked them down about £45 so quite pleased.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sleeping better again thank goodness! Went to the gym tonight - did a legs, bums and tums class! I was absolutely shattered and towards the end got a really painful stitch. I think the fact that I found it so hard tho showed how much I needed it - and how little my normal treadmill style work out is doing for me in terms of flexibility etc! So will go again
I then worked as I am off next week and have so much to do before I go. It's been a weird work week as I've struggled with motivation, had an evening class, an assembly for my daughter and a hospital appointment for OH all of which have "ate" into my normal working week. I still have loads of flexi-credit tho. OH has another hospital appointment in a couple of weeks - think I will book a flexi-day off then.
DS reminded us belatedly he's going on an art residential course in March. I think we may have paid a deposit but I have a horrible feeling the trip was due to be about £150. Need him to get details as will need to pay it very shortly! Will also need to arrange our hours so we can pick DD up a couple of nights.... he loves art tho so it's an investment - and will do him good to be socialising as a group more at school. I sometimes worry he misses out on some of that because of picking up DD...
Oh well... Off to bed. Hope you all have a good dayAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi guys - well I made it to the end of the working week result!
Children now safely with their nan's, so OH and I got to have a meal out together. We dropped in on my sis and BIL and delivered them something and some DVDs and borrowed some off them. Didn't stop long as they weren't in the best of health.
Letter from DS's school about his high level of absence - and threatening involvement with the Education Welfare Officer. Not overly worried though as took DS to doctor and dentist before xmas (when he had about 12 days off) who confirmed he was really ill and in pain - and in his recent sickness took him to doctor who again confirmed ear infection so think may write them a letter explaining all that and hopefully get them off our backs. His results are still reasonable despite that....
My marketing books have arrived so need to read and absorb and hopefully practice some stuff out of them over the coming weeks.
My flipchart paper, easel and pens have now arrived - now I just need a date, venue and audience. Small things in the grand scheme of things.
My business cards have arrived and everyone I've shown them to so far has liked them - and I've started giving some out. Still awaiting sign off from work but not overly worried....
Still trying to find the best deal for doing a PTLLS course but don't want to try and do everything all at once.
Some good news - I am sleeping better now despite tablet reduction so really pleased about that. Going to bed in a min....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
