I sucked my thumb until about age 6.5 - she's 8.5 and still hasn't grown out of it which is frustrating. Can't seem to get the message through to her. She often sucks her thumb when she is sleepy - its not like she stands there all day and does it. I wonder whether trying to get her into tapestries or something to do while watching TV would help her as it is then I think she is particularly vulnerable to thumb sucking!!

Its amazing what we talk about on the forum isn't it.

Checked our banking - going well so far....

Hi guys - Well today I went interview clothes shopping. Was quite pleased got a principles top half price in the sale and a jacket for a decent price in Debenhams and most importantly its flattering. Got good deals for DD too - I bought her 2 things for half price in new look and debenhams - and one for less than half price. So she was really pleased.

I really need to focus on losing weight tho - I've got dimples in my arms - I don't think I've ever had them before... I certainly don't want them! I have lost 2.5lbs this week but that is from a really high weight level so a long way to go!

Hoping that can start to increase exercise and improve diet now.... over the next few weeks and months and hopefully become healthy and stay that way. I have more energy now - and can really feel the difference now pain has gone and off pain meds. I'm not being undermined any more by periods either so really hoping experience break through in my career and personally now.

Hi guys well today has been fairly busy - church - dinner - washing - soup making - more washing - cake making - more washing - 3 dishwasher loads - getting DD to plant some bulbs I was given for xmas

But I also read a book I gave my DS for his birthday - I wonder why I picked that one for him? Something to do with 62% on the tighteness test probably lol. I also spent some time sitting with DD while she wanted Alice in Wonderland AGAIN

Cakes are nearly done.... so just going to prod them and coat them with an icing glaze and then should be done. I have got work tomorrow in another town and then a group of us are going to a friends house in the evening. I'm going to take one of the cakes with me (since I'm not that good at sharing I made 3 LOL!)

I have started my diet and am doing quite well... altho once cake is back on the scene could be a set back - but I think if I combine it with fruit should be okay (honest) LOL

DS is revising in theory anyway - he has exams all this week - really hope he does well as last year his results were disappointing. I got complimented on my daughter and how mature and well behaved and clever she is twice at church this morning by different people which was nice. Some friends have also asked if we can get together for a meal so need to sort that out too - not sure when tho...

I have an interview Friday - so will spend some of the time this week preparing for that and making sure I have all my proverbial ducks in a row!

Sounds like you're doing really well SH. Busy but coping with it well.

I need to lose some weight as well. I've let the cold and other things get in the way. But I have my plans for this year and no colds are going to mess it up this year.

Hi Tirl - I am feeling much brighter.

Had a good if long work day and then spent time with friends. Was out early for work but got home early so managed some of my work from home today so still saw some of my family even tho I went out.

Other than cake had a healthy day. Porridge for brekkie, an apples, strawberries, mango and grapes for dinner with a slice of cake. Cake when I got home (oops). Veg soup for tea. Cake while I was out.... (double oops) I am hoping the rest was healthy enough to offset it LOL

I'm hoping for porridge for brekkie tomorrow followed by another fruit lunch and poss veg soup tea if there's enough left.... with of course a slice of cake if there is still any left....

Tomorrow I need to prepare in earnest for my interview.... I've got the outfit, need to submit something by Wednesday and then focus on the interview questions for Friday. Thinking of starting work from home Friday.... We'll see...

Well good luck with your interview, will keep fingers crossed for you.
    That's a lot of cake...was it nice? :D

I wish I had time for porridge in the morning. I like it with my healthy handful of seeds and a banana. Now it's just 2 weetabix which is never enough to sustain me long but I can't stomach anymore of them either. My plan is to start having second breakfast at work consisting of a yoghurt and a banana. I think eating healthily and not too much is definitely a key to losing/maintaining weight.

Hi Tirl - the cake was yummy. I do porridge in the microwave takes 2mins30

I have managed to lose 5.5 lbs in the last two weeks so pleased with that. I am also majorly up flexi-time wise as just have so much to do. On top of that I've spent all evening reading up on things that could come up tomorrow in my interview!!

I've just dug out some old competency based questions too so I'm going to think about example answers to those in advance of tomorrow too! Really hope I get one of the two jobs I am going for as it would make a massive difference financially. I'm also bored and splitting my attention between 2 relatively different roles isn't really working for me... and is causing some tensions for others I think too as I am spinning plates a lot of the time. I am hoping if I get a higher graded role again there will be more challenge and my enjoyment and interest level will rise.

DS has been doing exams all week - so have been pestering him to revise. Quite pleased tho - because despite missing almost 3 weeks of lessons in a particular subject he got the third highest mark in the year. He's not had any other results yet tho... It's a subject he has to take next year tho so its a good start and means he has a good base for going forward. Apparently only about 4 people in the year got decent marks - and the rest got about half what he did so super pleased with that! He says the other people he's competing with - one of them is like Hermione Granger and he has no chance of beating her! Bless!

DD is on a school trip tomorrow so hopefully she will have a good day too
