Hi DT - I have 8 gold stars to go and then I am there....
Well today has been okay. Still very tired today tho.... Made it to church. Had a £3 pork joint with stuffing, home made roasties and sweet potato, carrot and swede crush and cauli and peas and trifle... A couple of those items may have been in the Dine for £10 offer.... Like the trifle for pud.... Yummy, yummy, yummy.
Good news MSE wise - got £89 back from swing gazebo refund.... I was chuffed as OH asked so what do you want to use your birthday money towards instead which I thought was really sweet. Think will put towards a new roman blind for front room and get rid of curtains (put away).... Have seen a pattern I quite like at DUn3lm but will need to take proper measurements and get it costed tomorrow night.... there computer was down today. Also thinking of getting some sort of blind for OH's study (may wait for that tho). Thinking of getting a blackout lining for blind - apparently it does the thermal thing in the winter and the cooling thing in the summer which sounds good....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well DT just six gold stars left now....
Don't know what brought it on but DD has just done about 2 hours tidying. I have just put my first load of washing in (need to do a couple more before bed)!! I have of course unpacked and packed the dishwasher yet again.
TBF undoing all the swing gazebo was a lot of effort for OH and OH survived a trip to Dunelm too. It looks like we are going thro a potentially un-MSE expensive phase where we hopefully get lots done at once on the house and then get to ignore it again for the next 5 years or so LOL!

I have been admiring this in Dunelm - thinking of getting it made into Roman blinds for the front room - and also getting some scatter cushions made to match to tie everything in together. It will go beautifully with our fireplace - and will pick out the white from the new suite.... I'm going to put my gazebo refund towards the cost of it as it was originally a birthday pressie. I wonder whether to ask at church whether anyone makes roman blinds and cushion covers as I can't imagine they'd be any dearer than Dunelm!! and it may do someone we know a favour... It's tough times right now for a lot of people isn't it
Someone at church has referred me for some work so it will be interesting to see if anything comes of that.... They have also in the same breath asked me if I would do free / low cost workshops for people at church / local community who need them so having a lunch later in the week where we may discuss the second part of that. The first part - I've sent them off some info on me and it will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. I am still waiting for my new bank account details for my company to be sent thro.
OH is hoping that as part of redecorating / sprucing up the house / maintenance mode that we also declutter.... Now he gets on the bandwagon? Having left me to do it largely alone all year.... Having said that the only decluttering method he is fond of is one which involves a large black bin bag or a skip!! Whereas I feel compelled to sort thro everything in case someone else needs it even if I don't... There must be a balance somewhere between the two of us - but after 20 years we still haven't quite found it!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Still need 3 more gold stars... come on just let me win and then I can have my £10!!
Did the required hours today but worked from home which is a lot less pressure than going in.... Hopefully it will get easier. I think on the days when I go in work I spend too much time in meetings or intense conversations so I need to try and find a way to rebalance that a bit better....:o while still getting the job done
Decided to get kidsto make tea as OH was refusing:mad:! Got them to make tacos with fresh mince - frozen peppers and onions - grated cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and salsa. Yummy! Cost about a fiver between us so not really cheap but not bad either. Got a little mince and some tacos left for another day... Enough for lunch say.
Got to take DD to get her shoe inserts tomorrow.... as well as fitting work in
Got a nice surprise. My MIL sent me a card and some 20% off M&S :money:vouchers thro the post... so now very tempted.... LOL Sweet of her
Got paid wrong!! :eek:They forgot to put me back in pay so got about half :eek::eek:what I was expecting. They are going to put it right at the end of the month for me. :cool:I will need to check my bank account tho and check if I've scheduled transfers between my accounts or not.... Could have done without it! Apart from anything else - was expecting to be paid more this month and it was part of what was keeping me going .....:(

Hi DT - in the days when you only needed 200 gold stars for your tenner - I did occasionally win the 150 gold stars!! Of course when you are 3 away..... it takes forever.... I am at 50 silver stars so alternatively only need another 75 silver stars to get 5 gold... what's the betting I get that first
Got yet another refund from Mr As as my eggs were smashed... I had to go and get some new ones... and lovely choccies biccies at the same time of course....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi guys
Well now at 70 silver stars (need another 55) or 3 gold stars for my tenner..... inching along now.
I'm up.... but really should have been gone already. I am really shattered today. OH had to be up bright and early and he did his best but I still woke up so I reckon I slept reasonably well until about 5.30am and then was in a half sleep after that. I got up at 8am just to make sure DS knew he was taking DD to school and then conked out again. I would try and rush round getting ready but the jelly feeling in my legs and arms suggests they wouldn't cooperate that well!
May work from home again. I have no meetings today so my only reason for going in would be to look good or to look "present"... a bit pointless when you're struggling really. I'll log on to my email in a min and see of OHU have got back to me but I'm not banking on it...
Just did Mr As price guarantee and got a whole 53p pleased with that.... better than nothing and when you think that's on top of the 10% cheaper promise... I got 9 silver stars while writing this so there's hope on that one yet too LOL
My sis has asked for something from amazon for xmas so that would help pay for it which is always good!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just listen to your body and work from home today if that's an option. You're still trying to do bit too much...Good luck with getting gold/silver stars. I've really not done anything like that for ages now, might have a look and try to get back in making money.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Thanks Tirl - you're right. If I just listen to my body I would definitely work from home today. Besides which it saves petrol money and nearly £3 a day in parking!
Got 3 more silver stars.... It's like watching an England football team playing penalty shoot out so close and yet not LOLAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

sorry aiming high you must have posted at same time as me
Stayed at home but still stressful day. Had loads to get done and got asked important stuff at short notice and had to sort it out
Brain still not working properly
Had to also take DD to get shoe inserts - they have given them to her but said her school shoes not really supportive enough - they need higher sides... Why couldn't they have told me that earlier or issue a leaflet telling you what to buy!!!! So frustrating. They suggested I buy her trainers too - I found some for £7 which hopefully meet the requirements... (strangely the cheapest had the best arch support!!) They strongly suggested moving inserts between shoes too.... I have to take her back for a check up end November.....
I am really stressed today which I think is partly because of fitting that appointment in and then still trying to work my normal hours... Normally would do flex credit for things like that but have none at the moment! OHU have still not replied which is annoying. Will chase it up tomorrow as have to go in for a meeting anyway.... If it gets too much could come home after that tho... and work from home altho I think it will worry my boss if I work from home too much!
DS announced that he HAD to go out with his friends and asked for subs! To which I said bog off basically - He then amended that to he would work for the money if I give him some jobs but really would like to go pretty please. Got him to cook tea and told him I would need him to sort the clean washing and get it put away for me... Result! (I've asked OH to do this but TBH it is far easier to bribe DS!) And I really need the help. I have been so grumpy with the kids the last couple of hours while I tried to catch up on work before logging off from taking time out for DD's medical appointment!
OH is still out having left the house at 6.30am so he can't help even if he was so inclined.....
DD is fractious I think partly cos her feet are hurting.....
Oh well time to finish my chicken kiev and curly fries and (cold) peas provided by DS....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
