Learning to live my dreams not trample on them

Hi Milann
We go away a week on Saturday
I struggle to relax at the moment - I think it is related to the tablets I'm on - which is another reason why I am trying to reduce them. Yesterday I had a nice day tho. I worked, finished an hour early, tidied my bedroom while also making tea as you do. Made DS do his cleaning job - he only half done it but at least it helped. Got DD to tidy up her room as I wanted to show my friend all the decorating I had done...
I then went an picked up a friend that I haven't had a chat completely on her own to since she had her baby just before xmas! We went for a walk (that 2-3 mile one) and I've downloaded a pedometer app for my phone and I pretty much hit my 10000 steps yesterday which was good. We then relaxed on the swing seat and set up the fire pit so that was good.
Right need to run round the house - get ready to go out - and get to work by walking ideally or car if I am pushing it time-wise! I could always start from home and go in at lunchtime... So I might do that if I am cutting it fine. Because my friend came over - and I had to pick her up and drop her off - I was later than usual taking my tablets which made it harder to get up today! Oh well that's life at the moment. I think I took 4 tramadol yesterday as my arm was a bit in pain and the ibuprofen and cocodomol - but it was still better than last week.
My legs ache all the time at the moment - but I am exercising regardless. I am trying to increase my protein intake to try and improve the chances of building muscle...
Hope you are all having a lovely day!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi Saving.
Your life seem really busy and full on at the moment with work, exercise, pain etc.
All I would say is, do take some rest days as well, this is when the repair and growth happens so you do need them. Especially as you're starting exercising again after a long break.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Hi Tirl
Thanks for the advice... I have quite a compulsive nature - I'm all or nothing... so I either exercise all the time or not all. Having said that I am trying to vary my exercise - so sometimes I get it by going out walking, sometimes from the cardio machines at the gym and sometimes by cardio machines and weight training machines. I'm trying to do a minimum of 10,000 steps a day... OH has to go out tonight so I am unlikely to get to the gym then altho I could if I left DS in babysitting - I know DS wants to go to the gym tho - as he's trying to reduce his fat % beforre going to a camp Monday... and then our holiday abroad a week on Saturday.
I still haven't done any more on the list I posted earlier in the week - so if I do stay in - I would probably paint the front door etc! I have a few hours from work to try and make up this week if I can although I am still in flexi-credit from the time my boss gave me so I am not going to over-worry about it. The hospital that are dealing with my complaint keep ringing me in work time and yesterday I spoke to a nurse from the ward who apologised again for what had happened to me - which is good - but it still was upsetting. So I ended up leaving work and spending £30 on clothes at M&S to resettle myself... before going back in...
A friend is taking me out to lunch today which should be nice - cos it was my birthday last week and she hasn't been in at the same time as me sinceAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

DS has been given a training plan at the gym - and walked there - and OH picked him up....
DS went via Mr As and picked up the shirt and shorts we picked out last night, and the swimming cossies for DD. But I need to take the trousers back that I bought from Peacocks and swap them before his trip Monday as the button keeps coming off and they are brand new... its a weird popper thing so not really home fixable. Very annoying tho as they are made from that thin cotton that is ideal in warm weather.
For some reason I am freezing today. I also slept really badly last night - I think it is from coming off the Tramadol! Really tho- not taken any of them today. Just co-codamol and even that I waited until I felt the pain before taking. So project for next week is to try and reduce the co-codomol and move to ibuprofen or non-prescription strength cocodomol... Which would be a major achievement!
I actually dropped half a pound this week so that is movement 2 weeks on the run - which is something at least.... Let's hope that I get back on track. Altho it was a nice idea to stop calorie counting its scary now I'm counting them again how many I'm actually having. I am now at 1600-1700 calories...
My target even with the increased exercise is 1500 so need to drop back really....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hope things are picking up for you. Sorry not been around much. I did a free thing for WW and filled the online food diary in, and I actually don't eat enough each day! How can that be? When I think I'm eating far too much.

Hi Gill - thanks for posting - I understand we are both very busy. With regard to WW - if you don't eat enough to fuel your metabolism properly your body says - we need to hold onto everything we've got.... Hence why people can gain weight even when they are starving. I've been eating more while still doing lots of exercise this last week or two and I am finally losing weight again after a plateau / going up again for the last month. I lost one pound last night.
I've looked up my symptoms on the net (cold feet, shivery, cold alternating with sweats, increased insomnia - despite sleeping tablets etc, worsening ability to get up and go...) and apparently it is all linked with coming off tramadol. So planning to go in for meeting this morning and then come back and work from home as I feel "off colour". At least its a long weekend so that should see me thro the worst of it, but think I am already double booked for tuesday so need to try and undo that today...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hoping to get to the gym this afternoon. DD is going out to play. I've nearly done the washing - altho they are going away tomorrow and need to pack. Also need to agree stuff to take to holiday abroad...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
