A friend at work has been showing off her cake making skills - so being a true MSE person rather than parting with my cold hard cash for someone else to do the job for me - I spent half the night - making DD a cake make up bag, eye shadow and applicator and lipstick made of cake and icing. I am really pleased with it and more importantly she was so pleased and stunned she said words couldn't express it!
222728_221126074580624_100000496994140_923464_4194963_s.jpg She is having a makeup party tomorrow and luckily at only 8 she doesn't seem to have noticed or care about any wobblely bits! The cake goes perfectly with the party theme...

Had a much better week I think. Felt much more positive. It was DD's birthday today - and I worked from home having also worked about 4 extra hours yesterday. MIL picked her up and then as a surprise I was also here when she got back from school so she was thrilled. I was so tired tho - as I literally went to bed at 3.30am so I had a kip for an hour or so while waiting for OH to get home! MIL kindly took us out to Pizza Hut to so that went well.

She has also given me my birthday pressie as my birthday is next week. She really admired my new curtain pole - and likes the curtains I've put up - and suggested just getting some blue throws for the sofas to rebalance the colours in the room (it feels too red at the moment if that was possible). She thought I'd got new curtains and really likes them! It helps that all the hooks were actually in the right holes of course LOL

Showing off my cake picture on facebook reminded a friend - that her daughter was supposed to be coming! We've now arranged to pick her up as otherwise she wouldn't be able to come!

OH is busy cooking some ham in the oven so he has more Atkins type food to eat... My diet hasn't been good the last few days... too much nice food in the house. I am spending compulsively on groceries and on my DD's party recently.... I do get like that from time to time but need to find a way to stop it. May start trying to take only cash out with me so there is a natural limit on what I can spend...

There always seems to be something we "need" tho and yet I find it really hard to describe to OH what to buy me....

That cake is really good! It would have cost a fortune to get something like that in the shops. Hope she enjoys her day.

Thanks Gill - if my friend made it for me she would have wanted £30-45 hence why I did it myself!:money:I think DD appreciated it far more and her friends were stunned too they were saying "I can't see how it was even possible to do that" - bless them! :T

Well being supermum I finished painting DD's bedroom today, put up her new turquoise and silver and green curtains (recycled from a previous house):money:, painted her window sill, put on clean bedding in the new favoured colours (also recycled from a previous house):money: - Oh and yes ran her make up and wii games party! With help from sis and DS it went well. I think it was one of my least stressful parties... I think because they were older (and 2 didn't turn up) and I just was so more chilled and organised than normal. I gave the kids some hula hoops, sherbert saucers and of course all the cakes we made earlier in the week. My sis did most of the make up, my hands are shaking quite often at the moment.... I think its the meds I'm on:o but the kids didn't notice....

OH confined himself to put up DD's new light (£15 chandelier style pendant from Mr As) which looks fab:j, picking up one of her friends and picking up the happy meals!! Everyone was very impressed with the cake so that was a good boost to my self esteem.:A I'm eating some of the chunk I cut off (ie that didn't make it into the cake bag) with strawberries, grapes and banana as a late tea...

Got all this done, despite only getting up at 11am and showering after I had painted her room! Straightening my hair too! Sis french plaited DD's hair which looked lovely... :p Oh and I nipped to Dunelm after the party for curtain hooks and to B&Q to swap some paint! Luckily they let me have a credit note as the 3 for 2 offer was no longer on....

I've also painted one of her previously pink chairs... white. And painting the landing window sill and our bedroom window sill. I tried her curtains in our room but I prefer the ones I already had up so I need to put them back before we can go to bed!:eek::eek: I have also sorted the washing and got a load on... I am still wired!:rotfl: I can totally see why it is taking tablets to make me sleep as my energy levels currently are amazing! OH would like to try whatever I am taking to try and get my energy levels - I pointed out he could always try losing more weight...:rotfl: as I am sure that's part of it!

thanks CMD - DD woke up yesterday and said it was like waking up in a mansion with all the new decoration and the crystal beaded pendant! It does look fab - and at £15 I think it was a bargain (she's got in her head that it cost £42 so even better :rotfl:)

She does think her walls are a bit plain now though, so I have to think about what I could put up there... I suggested a notice board but she would like a white board to write on as her cousin apparently has one... She has £35 of birthday money she is happy to put towards it... Bless. she also mentioned stick on decorations - as she made me take down her previous foam disney princesses as she is older than that now...

I said I would try and look around in town for any of those stick on things for walls... (I'm sure I saw some nice stuff in the pound shop....silver stick on things like relax or princess or whatever or even stick on mirror type things in different shapes) But I'm not due in there today so she will have to wait until another day...

She has agreed to perhaps have a picture I recently moved off the landing.... :money:It was of her and DS but from the back when she was younger and has quite a lot of white in it. They were holding hands and looking at each other it is quite sweet.. Need to think about whether I have any other pictures in the loft or wherever that we're not using that she might like...:money: I have already put a lovely cross stitched cat picture in her room that blends in well with the new colours.... :jShe's very into cuddlely animals at the moment so is delighted with it:j

I am feeling much more positive again - partly 'cos I'm back in flexi-credit at work and have agreed a later start time. I kept crashing back to sleep this morning but at least now know its OK. DS threw up last night:eek: at around midnight just as I was drifting to sleep (he sorted himself out tho) - but he had to wake me up enough this morning to phone in school - but I managed that but still crashed back to sleep for another hour and half... I was having a very vivid nightmare so he came in at a good point.... (OH was watching Serenity last night and I was in the room for 15 mins and I think that was the root cause of the dream)

Me, OH and DD also made it to the gym yesterday so I was really pleased with that.:j I couldn't do 5 of the resistance bands exercises, 1 did one exercise but when I tried the others my arms shook - I think my arms were too tired from painting the day before. I did manage 15 minutes on the treadmill at 4.8 speed and inclines of between 5 and 10 :jand did 18 mins on level 3 of the cross trainer so was chuffed with that... :T Before the transfusion I could barely manage 5 minutes on each without a a 10-15 minute rest each time.... but had thought I was just badly unfit so just kept trying harder:eek:

We had someone round from church and had a good chat about the future and our place in it so that was positive. After tea DS and I went for a walk of a couple of miles 'cos I still had energy which was positive. Still not really losing any more weight (eating a bit too much cake at the mo:rotfl:) but fitness levels really improving!:j:j

Anyway.... need to rush round getting ready and then hope to start work from home this morning by 11 before going off to another site for 1pm. Got a horrible feeling may not have printed what I needed last week so may need to get there slightly earlier to print... Oh well!

Just had my lunch! I've done my meeting all went well - and am now back home... DS is okay but must be ill as he only got up at quarter to two - he is a very early riser normally. I am already excited about going to the gym tonight as I have sooooo much energy... Feels unreal to be saying that!

My arm pain seems to be improving there have been a couple of days recently when I have managed to cut down on my pain killers despite lots of activity. Right lunch break over - need to get back down to work until its time to pick up DD....

Hi guys - still "wired". Managed to do 8.5 hours work today which was good despite starting at 11am. I worked most of the day from home so was still around for the kids... DS seems okay - he's managed to keep all his food down :)

I walked to pick DD up from the after school club so that was 1.2 miles done there. As soon as she was in bed I went to the gym for an hour. I tried to do the HIIT type regimes where you do brief bursts of high intensity with long recovery periods. I enjoyed that and surpirsed myself at what I can do. I dd about 22 mins on the treadmill. Then did some arm exercises using the resistance band - until it broke and bruised my arm... and then I did some reps using 1kg and 2kg weights in a similar motion to what I would have done if the band hadn't broken for about 6 minutes or so and then did about 22 minutes on the cross trainer. I was made up as I found all of that easy....

I nipped to MrAs on the way home but spent just £15 which was good for me. I needed cash back so got that out... that way DD can pay for her school meals etc. DS and I are trying to do packed lunches now where we can... I also need to be organised and try and send some mistake purchases back to Amazon and take one thing back to Peacocks... I still need to get new home insurance in place by Thursday!! Preferably with cashback otherwise saving £100 on renewal price would also be good...

Hopefully I am now starting to feel sleepy so am going to try and head back up to bed...

    Hi guys

Well today - I can feel my muscles in my legs a bit but despite what I did with my arm - the pain I am in with my arm is improving slowly. Despite going to the gym I was able to not take 2 of my cocodomol so that was good. I think all the referred pain and swelling in my non-injured arm has gone down to as I am using both arms properly now - and they are hanging right again (anyone who has ever had nerve damage will understand what I mena....)

I'm hoping to walk to work today. Need to get there by 11am - 20 mins walk so I should be able to do it - as I am almost ready now. I do still need to straighten my hair tho (despite the fact that I am having a hot flush before I've even started)! Need to do my makeup too - in a major meeting this pm!

I think I will go and focus on getting ready and then sort out the home insurance tonight, along with ordering the right versions of my daughter's DS games!! Altho I can see how the problem happened - one of the games she wanted only seems to come in the 3DS vesion... she has a DS lite... Oh well
