Telecom Plus Poorer and poorer

Unfortunately I have had another rather negative experience.
I am disputing my electricity start reading (told TPlus 2 months ago).
The assured me that bills in the mean time (while dispute is sorted) would be reasonable.
This month I got a big bill because they have used the wrong start figure (the one I disputed).
Unfortunately I was away on holiday, so was not able to sort it out beforehand.
Ebill arrived in time. Paper bill was late again (looking at post mark).
I cannot say for sure what the problem is with the paper bills. But I can say that over the last 20 years, I have not had any problems receiving 2nd class post from any other organisation.
I hope the distributors appreciate why people may want time to sort out problems like this before the money goes out (bill was £160).
I appreciate I was on holiday so couldn't act anyway.
Fortunately it didn't cause me a problem, but lost of people don't carry balances of hundreds of £s in their accounts.0 -
I have now sorted out the problem.
I called my previous supplier and they called Tplus with the correct meter reading.
It is a shame that Tplus could not have sorted this out over the last two months.
It is also a shame that they sent me a big bill when they specifically told me they would not do so whilst the initial reading was "in dispute".0 -

Nothing surprises me any more with this company. For want of not repeating myself, when my agent set my billing up with this companies and his intervention initally to sort problems, even he was made a fool of by this company and still is judging by the letters I have received recently. I have gone back to Southern Electric who's customer service for me is priceless, they have even took on the old bills of which I was disputing because of the terrible service from TPlus. Virgin Energy have also allowed me time to pay them as well due to the fact TPlus failed to give them final notice and left me with a bill of £160.00+
Will any ony who changes to TPlus be very very careful, dispite what the Reps advise or lack of, they will drop you in it financially.
When you decide to change.
1. Give your final readings to the new company and the old, companies are obligated to do this with in 10 days of changeover, TPlus don't in many cases so they are breaking the law.
2. Keep a track on your Direct Debits as TPlus will tell you that you are with another company but continue to take money from your bank.
3. Don't trust the some of the Reps on this or any other site as they are after the comission at the end of the day. It was on this site Reps were in dispute about this as one said they do get comission the other disagreed.
4. Check the contracts, as TPlus for ever insist you have signed a Telephone contract with them, when in fact you hav'nt and they threaten to stop your phone usage ( a worry for the unknowing )
5. Always remember the story of Little red riding hood " Ho what big bills you have Grandma"
"Yes Riding Hood thats from the previous companies TPlus would'nt give the details to so I am left lumbered with bills from when TPLus took over "
I am for ever reminded from TPlus or their Reps that the Onus can not be soley put on them for the errors, well, it seems very strange to me that three companies have
been blamed by TPlus for the mistakes.Rememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.
If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance. And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know
when, You might need them to empty your bedpan.0 -

exactly my point (again) My e bill arrived on 20th of the month but my posted bill again arrived one day before payment day

my point exactly, my e bill was with me on 19th of the month, and the posted bill came late again, only one day before payment day and this May it was the 28th!!, earlier again!0 -
Hiya, just to let you know I'm still here. I've not posted for a while as I've had a couple of major family problems to sort out, and I've just bought a new house. Dont get much time to come online.
I've read some of the stuff above and can only say that I'm glad the e-billing service is better. I DID, however, recieve my paper bill on May 22nd (bill dated 18/5) I made sure I noted the day I recieved it down due to last months points. As I have said before, as many people are recieving late bills, I agree you should give T+grief. It's not on.
I don't use T+ for my internet service, I'm on NTL broadband. (I dont think, or rant, that T+ is best for everything.)
Most T+ ditributors will get a commission, however, as I'm not looking at signing up loads of customers, I only have myself and some family members signed up. I currently DO NOT recieve commission.
I will not be able to give much time to this forum for the next month or 2 as I'm sorting out a lot of stuff with a couple of family members, and my new house, and internet time is limited. Please can I apologise in advance for any delay if someone asks me a question.
cheers

Smartass, as you know one of the advantages of using Telecom Plus phone service is the fact that you can make free phone calls to other members of The Utility Warehouse if you register for More Talk option Zero. I am not sure that your claims for Just-Dial and Teleshunt are correct, according to their websites UK calls are charged at BT prices and they charge when you access their service not when the call is answered.
Telecom Plus is a multi-service provider and many of my customers like the convenience of receiving one bill each month for gas, electricity, phone, mobile and internet seperately itemised and paid together each month by direct debit. As it says on the Telecom Plus brochure "The more services I take the more money I save"

Mr Howes (TP Senior Exec) used this forum to send a memo for the attention of:ALL TP Dist
We are used to T+ reps using this site for some free (unregulated) advertising.
But all other companies would send this type of message to their people by way of an internal memo!0 -
