Making bedding stay put

I know this sounds a bit silly - but how does everyone else in the world manage to ensure their bed sheets stay put? We use fitted ones and since we got our new mattress, which isn't massively deep, both the sheet and our new mattress cover seem to end up halfway across the bed in the morning.

I'm wondering about some sort of clip systerm... Any clever suggestions - apart from making my restless wriggling OH sleep on the floor that is!

I DO have this problem....mainly my fault I think.

I seem to remember you can get clips for this, you just secure them to the edge of the sheet, then clip them under the mattress.... if you see what I mean. I'm afraid I dont know where you'd get them from though.... If you wanted an OS solution, a piece of thick elastic with a bulldog clip on each end might do the same job? Clip a bulldog onto one side of the sheet, stretch under the mattress and clip to the other side?

Or if you're fed up with the wriggling OH, kick him out of bed :rotfl:

I use the clips to keep it in place, I have this problem as my OH moves around a lot in his sleep which causes it.

    Hi char9

if your OH is really that wriggly why don't you put the whole mattress into a duvet cover.... he can't kick that off:rotfl: My mum made me a mattress cover that is made like a duvet cover.....which is brilliant. You could always try it with an old oneduvet cover to see if it is OK... if it works, I would get OH to change it at laundry time:rotfl:

    Mega xx
  • I bought some clips from betterware or kleeneze. They work really well and weren't expensive. Just make sure you don't forgot one (like I did) cos the plastic bit shrinks in the tumbledryer!!!

i cant think where from but i bought some elastic strips with a suspender type fixing at each end, should be easily sewable for an OSer. They keep the sheets on really well when you attach them across the back of a corner.

You can get extra deep fitted sheets. I got mine from Dunelm Mills.

Are you extra active in bed ?:D

That is how the Kleeneez clips are made. I have to use them as well for a couple of our sheets that don't seem to understand they are meant to stay over the mattress all night.
  • I pin mine with safety pins, top and bottom so they stay put.

I use a flat king size sheet on a double matress. There's plenty to tuck in round the edges and it stays put!

I've never liked fitted sheets to be honest as I've been able to keep them on the bed.
Here I go again on my own....
