    That's a pretty nice gift!

It's lovely to hear of good news though instead of the normal day to day gloom. I bet they'll be smiling for a long time.
I can't be bothered updating this anymore

I am so behiend this week, is still have nearly everything on my list still to do, I'm now considering bagging up the ironing and hiding it as all the family are coming round tonight for a takeaway , and I want a tidy house for once.

I have wasted untold hours looking at what I should do with the money I've been given, and had decided that I wanted to do something nice for the familt, ie. a short break this half term or a deposit on a nice holiday for next year, and none of them were in the least bit interested. So have decided to forget that and spend it on myself/myself and dh!
If my sensible head wins I will put down a deposit for next years holiday and op the rest.
If my naughty head wins I will buy myself a little cheap sports car like the mg midget we used to have or an old mini.
Not very mse I know :D It doesn't help that the sun is out and there is one up for sale over the road, help!!

Anyway, suffice to say I have not really been a mfw this week at all, except for not spending a lot, no surveys done either. I shall try and do better next week.

I think we all have weeks where life events get in the way of our MSE ways, enjoy thinking about what to spend that money on!

Thanks cath, I had great fun spending this money over and over !

Finally I have decided , and just booked butlins in skegness for may bank hol weekend. We have been 3 times to the bognor one with the kids at xmas time which they loved , but we have not been for years as the prices just seem to get higher.
Anyway we have gone for self catering as we will miss the friday night meal anyway due to the travelling, and we got a 3 bed silver apt for £285, plus 8% tcb. origional price was £620, so a good price for a bank hol weekend.

I'm going to take some cash as well for petrol, a couple of meals and coins for the kids the rest will go on oping the mortgage, hopefully close to £1k. So I'm pleased I've found something they will like, plus have done something fairly sensible with the rest.

Now I'm in a panic as its only a week away, and I still have mount everest of iron to get through before the dreaded packing, oh, plus I'm not going to tell the kids until we get them from school friday and go straight there, so I need to pack and ship the dog off to the inlaws without them knowing

Sounds like you have made a great choice and have been able to strike a balance. That is a good price too. I'm sure someone mentionned we are meant to be having good weather too so fingers crossed.

I think it's great you're not telling the children till last minute, that reminds me of the eurodisney adverts that are on tv at the moment.

Feeling rough today after my parents came round last night and bought us a takeaway, plus dh bought lots of wine which has gone!
I think I'm eating badly and drinking too much lately so I shall try and eat more healthily and cut out alcohol for this week and see if I feel any better.

I am about to make my first proper op by online banking. It will have to go via an account I don't use as I can't pay it from my main acct. so I can only do payments once a week when dh's wages go in. I shall ring up when the bank is open and see if it shows up straight away, I am going to pay £20 as I don't know how but i still have some money left in this months budget, earning a bit myself is really helping now.

It may sound daft but being given money has really made me think about the future. £1500 is less than one months mortgage payment, If we were mortgage free life would be completly different, we could do so much. Up until now I have kind of assumed that we would borrow again for a better house, but by then the kids will have left so we won't really need a bigger house. I'm really thinking about how we could travel etc. which is making me feel like paying this off as quick as possible.

My tummy is slightly delicate too. I have been so busy this week that we have had burgers with smiley faces and beans twice, and homemade pizza once. Oh well. Could be worse. I definitely want to eat better this coming week though as i don't want to put all the weight back on that i lost, and it went up two pounds.

Good to have a plan. And you are right, we will be able to travel or do whatever we desire come MF day.
