:j I have just found out the sort code and acct no. for the mortgage. I can't believe I did'nt think of it before, its only reading auntie mabels diary that I realised it could do that instead of paying over the phone with a card every time.

My main current account needs a card reader to make the transfer so I've just ordered one, but I found £1 in another acct so have transfered that to the mortgage. :D Only problem is you need to transfer a minimum of £1 from my alliance and leiceter account, so no 1p 's what a shame, I was hoping for the longest annual mortgage statement ever.

I commented on Auntie Mabels thread as well about this, i can send really small amounts as well and i commented on a remark made to me by the call centre about paying ridicuously small amounts. I also get a receipt posted to me after every payment made I have had up to 10 drop through my letterbox in one day.Its great adding the payment on my snowball every day. Really need to get everything paid off.We seem to be having a run of bad luck lately which is resulting in one step forward and a dozen back. dh van caught fire yesterday and is a write off, its insured but we have to wait for the settlement. Tools arent covered so lost out on that one. my car was in the garage for a week only managed to get a loan car for one day of that. All repaired now under warranty otherwise that would have cost in excess of £1000.
good luck with the bed assembling and with the op.Its really easy when you can just round down your account and send it online.Im on the PAD forum and its great to see all the debts being paid off and savings growing for all those that have paid everything off.
    ( hope this makes sense):D

I'm really sorry to hear about the van catching fire, scary! At least the car is covered by the warranty though thats something I guess.

I'm hoping that making very small payments as and when will help keep the motivation up, as having to wait sometimes weeks to op makes things drag a bit. I love the idea of the receipts as well, keep them working a bit for their money I say.

I think sometimes it feels too overwhelming trying to plan to make big overpayments all the time, I think i'm going to set up a regular lower op amount and then op smaller amounts as and when I can.

I always find that if i have a lump sum of money im more reluctant to pay it in, but sending at least a £1 a day or more on some days you dont tend to miss it as much as seeing an extra larger amount coming out of your account. i bag up my loose change pot as well and take that into the bank once in a while, they hate that lol

Hi newgirly, apologies for not being around for a while :o I just wanted to add I am another 'mad cat woman' :D and also prefer sitting at home in a dressing gown, with my laptop and the TV!! We are not alone...there are many of us out there - but do you know what, I am very happy being this way ;)

An expensive day today, we took the boys on their cinema date and bought 2 popcorn and 2 drinks to share £17  Then accidentaly went to the harvester for lunch and split the cost with dh, which cost me £33.

I have also checked the o% cc and got dh to ring up and check the date when the deal ends, I thought it was nov and its the 9th of june.
I've just applied for a 1.98% fee, 0% for 14 months lloyds card, thanks to :money:will have to wait for it to get approved and then cross fingers for it to go through in time and also hope to get the full limit we need which is £6934.

A year and a half ago we owed 20k on cards so its gone down a lot, but recently we have stopped paying it off and just payed the minimum in favour of oping the mortgage as it on a higher rate.

Its so annoying having it hanging over us though, I am thinking of upping the repayments on it to clear it quicker, to save all this hassle every year if nothing else. I'll have to work out which way is best I think.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.:)

Just worked out that the remaining cc debt split over the rest of the year I can just about pay if we stop op'ing.

If I start again in january the mortgage is still on target to finish april 2020 as we will be saving £70 pm not making the minimum payments any more.

Comparing that, if I carry on paying the minimum per month and op fully from july this year it will knock one month off the term. However I found out that i could make up that month by paying an extra £3 a month.

I could still make tiny op's as and when and hopefully still use some of my wages as well, but we would not be paying much off at all this year as we are IO and have spent the first half of the years money on building the log cabin and buying a bathroom. I feel a bit of a fraud as a mfw as not much will have been paid of this year.

The intention is there, just life happens.

Personally i would get rid of the CC debt first anyway as what would you do if you couldn't get another 0% card or they reduced it at short notice? I wouldn't be able to pay off that much in one go that is for sure.

Then, start again with gusto in January 2012.

I'm with Michelle, get rid if the credit cards. We have just under 1k on a 0% until November this year, and despite knowing it will be paid off I still don't like the mental attitude of it being a debt even at 0%.

love how you accidentally went to te harvester, we do that, never on purpose :rotfl:

Newgirly you are not a fraud. You are a MFW. You have made a wise decision about the order in which you pay things off, that's all. There are plenty of other people on here saying "well, I want to be MF, but I'm just sorting out .... before I can start OPing and I hope that's soon" or even "I've got my mortgage down a bit but I'm having to put it back up because I need a new car/kitchen/bathroom/whatever and I'll get back to the OPs as soon as I can". You're in good company, and the others are right that it's best to get rid of the card asap so you don't have to rely on finding new 0% deals.
