Hi Newgirly,
That's amazing. What was it that was sold? Hope they're doing something nice to celebrate.
Cheers,

It was an ancient chinese jade bowl, tiny as well !
It was at a specialist auction house quite a way away, as for sharing, I wish
, I have told mum the next curry is on them , not sure how I will stop the kids compiling a long shopping list though.:rotfl: MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
That's brilliant.
Do you mind me asking how they got it in the first place?
It's really interesting on how much it's increased in value. It's a fab nest egg for them. I'm really happy for them ( and I don't even know them! )I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Hi Iris , it was bought for just under 3k in 1979 from london auction house by my late grandad, so they knew it was worth quite a bit but was valued at 3k 10yrs ago still, thats why they kept it.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Slightly tipsy newgirly now
Popped into mum and dads , and they opened the champers dad got for his 60th which was an extra large bottle (forgotten the name!) followed by some fantastic toffee vodka.:D
Now in a very good mood, helped by the fact they have given us £1500, plus £100 each for the kids.
I think I will just give the kids most of their money to spend on what they want as they don't get money usually. I think I will stew on it for a while. But its v. tempting to book next years hol. with it. Will think about it tomorrow when not so happy
night night

Excellent news on the windfall for your parents.
20 fold in 32 years is an excellent return, probably even betters property I would wager.Like all revolutions, guerrilla goodness begins slowly, with a single act. Let it be yours.
