Couldn’t find a cheap enough slow cooker yesterday as tesc@ (and everyone else) had sold out, I can’t pay £38 for a digital one I don’t need
will keep going though and if not will have to pay about £20.
Bought a few xmas stocking fillers yesterday from the Xmas my pot, socks and boxers for the boys, a tiny handbag for my mum in zar@ and some Xmas sticker tags from £1 land as I can’t find any Harry Potter ones.
Today’s plan is get organised at home, I usually spend a fair bit of time at the weekend doing washing etc. But weekends have been busy lately so I’m getting ahead.
Today’s list:
- check finances (again!)
- do all washing
- do all ironing that’s dry
- clean whole house
- see if dh can take a day off before Xmas (he will lose 2 weeks as he’s too busy to take time off and won’t ask right now not as he’s worried about our staff not being up to doing the new work that he’s put them forward to do it’s a struggle at the moment )
- meal plan weekend from more or less what’s we have, I’ve not done a weekly shop this week just a tiny top up
-bake a cake
- have a pot of tea and peruse the M&S Xmas food brochure Dd brought me home last night :beer:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Keep an eye out for second hand slowcookers ng, sometimes they pop up when someone someone has a clear out.
It sounds like a difficult time for dh at the moment with work.
And ...ohhhh...the M&S food brochureJust thinking about it makes me want to shout "fcuk it! I'm ordering in Christmas dinner this year!"

It’s too late smlsave, I’ve bought one
an official “crock pot” 3.5L for £18 (£5 off) and I have to say it’s way slower than my old one even on high, I’m not sure if that thats good or bad yet :rotfl:
I’ve wasted a fair while looking at Xmas food today, but to be honest I may just wing it with whatever is available in Aldi this year on Xmas eve as we are only doing Boxing Day, although saying that it may end up being a full xmas dinner part two as some of the kids are eating out xmas day with boyfriend/girlfriends nan this year. When I get close to filling out an order form I go online to look at Aldis Xmas my food and it stops me! Just wish I could pre order from there as it’s very hit and miss getting what you want.
I’ve been busy in my shiny new kitchen for the first time properlyslow cooked a chilli, a Victoria sponge and a mass of cheese and leek stuffed potato skins for the kids.

Dh didn’t work yesterday afternoon so we managed to visit his parents finally, less that two hours there and there was arguing, shouting and tears (with each other not us!) a timely reminder why I didn’t rush to say yes when dh suggested taking them to York for the weekend at some point
Geraldine has been playing up for days, now I’ve had her back window motor fixed she’s decided to sound her alarm on an occasional basis! After a lot of googling, sending dh to look and taking her round dads we’ve decided it’s complicated, probably expensive and have worked out if u leave it unlocked and the boot slightly ajar it’s fineDad knows some mechanics on an industrial site somewhere that might have a look for me this week. I think dh is secretly pleased as the more goes wrong with Geraldine the more likely we are to keep “Nigel” Aka dads old x3 BMW we turned down due to running costs. Nigel is like a big old comfy armchair with heated seats but is a 3L diesel with expensive tax and insurance......
Today’s plans are finish the ironing, make apple crumble, update finances, reply to pizza express with card details so they can refund my service charge :T and possibly go to the cinema with dh.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Hurrah on the refund
Your food that you've cooked sounds lovely this weekend. not a bad deal on the slowcooker either. My crock pot cooks so fast I can't leave on while at work so slower sounds good to me.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I guess so smlsave, will need to plan better on days I’m at home and slow cooking though
I ate half an apple crumble last nightno custard as I was too lazy to make it once I found out the instant custard was not instant :rotfl: not sure how but I lost 2.25lb this week still, 4.75 to go until I hit the 7lb target before Xmas. I’m now 36.5 lb lighter than my heaviest weight about 3 years ago.
An extra days work today and I believe it’s just scraped into this months pay packet :TMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
