Busy few days! dh paid for a ridiculously expensively curry and many many drinks Saturday night, £50 a head and I had a water , no starter and a veggie dhansak  Bit of an odd night too, we hardly see these friends and it always revolves around drink so it was an eye opener being sober putting it politely....

My dad is 70 today, off round there after work for champagne and cake, I’ve got him tickets to see Catherine Jenkins at the albert hall for a xmas concert (suggested by mum) which I’m not sure he will like, plus a puzzle of Amsterdam as we are all going there’s friday.

Ive no idea what I’m doing with the finances, not had time to check however I’m being pretty careful at the moment, although the car will need to have her window fixed incase it rains, hopefully it won’t be an arm and a leg :o

Bake off tonight and it’s dairy week , I can’t think what to buy except profiteroles , any suggestions greatly received :D

£5 op made today , just so I can call myself a mfw still :rotfl:

Hi xspender, thanks from the suggestions :) it’s been a crazy day so I’ve only just seen your post, in the end it was a last minute pop to the co-@p on the way home from work for profiteroles and reduced puff pastry mince pies :D

Twenties / Art Deco week next week, not sure what’s in earth I can get for that

We are off to Amsterdam tomorrow, all except ds2 at the moment whose passport is missing  took all five to mums Monday to input details for flight and then put them all in the sideboard drawer at home afterwards. After a brief phone call (he was going to see a film at 10pm so wouldn’t talk) he said I must have it

Have stripped the house and he is still out and we leave at 5 am , both boys have not even packed yet. Are other people’s teenagers so useless I wonder?

In mortgage related news, not much is happening unfortunately :(

Passport found at 1am in coat pocket! Attempted a little slap around the back of the head but couldn’t reach as he is too tall :rotfl:

    Thanks vix and Cath :)

We got back last night, it was a long weekend and to be honest quite stressful at points, but I really tried to make an effort :o Hotel was stunning , it was an old children’s orphanage. The only trip we managed was the zoo as our budget was quite small. £9.50 a beer in the first bar we went in meant keeping a careful eye!

Ordered a w@itrse delivery for today, not my usual ald@ shop but I’m so tired and it’s was the only place with a slot for today, £20 off a second shop code though. I’ve gone for more fresh ingredients as since the kitchen work we have been stuck in a rut of readymade meals, need to actual get back into cooking properly.

About to check the finances now wish me luck

    £9.50 per beer!

Waitrose order sounds sensible and for fresh ingredients they’re not that expensive (and better provenance than Aldi, I’m sure).

More or less recovered now from going away with my extended family :rotfl:

This week has been hectic, kitchen floor is now done, we are waiting for a few odds and ends to be finished and then possibly might get the living /dining room /conservatory done too depending on the final cost of the kitchen and bedrooms, still waiting on that :(

Did another Waitrose delivery and feel I may be getting a bit used to it, why can’t aldi do home delivery!
