Not an very inspiring month of overpayments again!

Still, I had a chance to go through everything and plan for the rest of the year. We should now be able to make some ops each month this year if only a few hundred at a time.

We will reduce the holiday budget per year to £180 pm, which is half of the rent the boys pay currently, plus as of January they will all pay their own phone bills so extra op money there too :D Still money to pay out for dds travel this year - £1200 ish until December, plus £500 to cover the last payment to the electrician.

Feeling a bit more back in control of everything now, xmas is on track with what’s been saved and already bought this year, even wrapping paper bought already (Harry Potter theme this year).

Weight loss going ok, not drinking has probably had more of an effect than I would like to admit :o the downside of this is a bit of spending in the last few months on a few new clothes, nothing sensible even just a couple of “going out” outfits. However I’m justifying this as I managed to squeeze into a size ten skirt for the first time since I was about 16 year so old, so I’m not feeling guilty for celebrating :rotfl:

So now it’s time to knuckle down and get those overpayments going, just under £10 paid this week from topcashback so far.

Dds graduation went really well, a long day after leaving at 7.30 and getting home about 6pm. Had a nice meal in Pizz@ express, but not many fitted with the meal deal criteria (obviously :rotfl:) so £270 plus tip AFTER a 2-4-1 on mains  plus £45 on a quick drink in the royal festival hall where the graduation was. My secret savings stash was £320 , so I have £5 left :o

Trying to think of anything frugal I have done today and the only thing I can come up with is I bought a loaf of medium sliced bread instead of thick on the way home :D

Back later after I’ve phad a think about how to offset some of the spending , I did actually put the bill on the grocery shopping cc , which is now almost at limit and needs to last until the 5th Nov.

Last month I underspent on the cc (only due to the fact I lost it ) so there will be extra in the current account this month as the bill was less, with a llttle surplus it all adds up to £292.34 to live on if I don’t use my secret stash :T

That’s £14.61 per day for food and petrol for the next twenty days  we have bits in the freezer and cupboards, however it probably not stuff most of them want to eat.

Just checked the bill - with my glasses on - from pizz@ express and am gutted as they have added an “optional” £30.08 service charge  plus a £20 cash tip we left! Apparently it’s because we are a large table, I can’t believe I let that happen , but I could’nt see very well, I have emailed them as I’m a little miffed even though it’s pointless I guess.

Oh I'd be annoyed about the service charge too.

    I could kick myself!

Anyway, it’s pie week on bake-off today, the daily £14.61 budget has taken a hammering as I was late from work so went to a small local shop instead of the big supermarket and had to pay for 4x individual pies , plus an apple pie and (for ds2 ) some pork pies. £11.20 spent.

Work is so manic that I’ve offered to work an extra day next week, not sure if they will take me up on the offer but hopefully they will, every little helps at the moment.

Hi NG, I've just a bit of catching up on your diary - you seem very busy!

I love the idea of different foods to match the Bake Off :o I haven't watched even one yet!

Well done on staying alcohol free. Since not drinking over the summer holidays I've reduced what I do drink quite well... although I'm pretty sure I'm eating more as a result!

Hi smlsave thanks for popping by :) well done cutting back on alcohol, I completely get the eating more part though, in the first few months I took up a new hobby of cake eating :rotfl: however it’s all calmed down now and I am really slowly losing weight without trying to hard :D

I’ve been emailed pizz@ express and they have asked for a photo of my receipt so fingers crossed. There’s also a refund on amaz@n prime as I cancelled and I have slightly more on the current ac than I had worked out as I bought a couple of items cash and listed them as using the current account. :o so the daily budget is upped for the next 19 days from £14.61 to £20 :T plus there’s enough surplus for a slow cooker as mine died before we hadn’t the new kitchen, tesc@ is doing a 3.5 L for £9 at the moment :T
