I wanted to lose two stone.

Just three stone to go :o.

    :rotfl:you are funny GG

Hi xspender, I feel your pain as I’ve been up and down like a yo-yo for what feels like forever. Since I’ve quit weightwatchers and counted cals for a while (given up now) I feel less stressed about it all, stopping drinking has helped a lot too, not just the alcohol calories but the eating more the next day :o

Two weeks tomorrow since I did a “big shop” and I’m working my way through stuff in the kitchen, there might be a mutiny soon though if there’s no snacks again tomorrow night. My oldstyle ideas of baking stuff to cheaply fill them up whilst making me feel like a 1950’s wife is not really working. Nobody touched the apple crumble except me, and ds2 snacked on a pot noodle after his dinner :rotfl:

We are shifting bake-off night to weds this week as dds boyfriend is out Tuesday. Last weeks episode didn’t give much away theme wise, it seemed to be a bit mixed if I recall? I’m thinking of ignoring the theme and repeating bread week as it was so good, chilli bread, French bread, rosemary bread ,oil and balsamic, garlic and herb cheese and olives :)

Oops I’ve been just remembered this is a mf diary so I’m committing to a £2 Tilly today right now :D

Bed at 8.30 for me tonight, work is tiring :o Stopped off at tesc@ on the way home to do some “pumpkin picking” with ds2 :D only bought six this year, so fairly restrained for us :rotfl: total cost £8 plus £51 on food, budget still just about on track although I’ve spent tomorrow’s £20 already on petrol.

I’m working an extra day next week again, i’m sure what to do with the extra, I’m thinking a small treat and the rest off the mortgage :D

    six pumpkins?

I'm imagining either a lot of pumpkin pie or a completely decked out Halloween house party.

Shockingly I’ve never made a pumpkin pie :rotfl: we may be having a pizza eating /Shaun of the dead watching pumpkin carving afternoon Sunday as well as a do on Saturday 2nd (only a small family do mind) so we need lots of pumpkins :D

Fab day today as ds 1 has finally been offered a permanent contract for his job on more money which he really enjoys :T

Bit of a spendy day today, but one I’m pleased with - we have booked (another :o) cruise, this time for April 2021, the fjords again but on a new ship. It was a fantastic price £629 pp for a week for a balcony, this year my parents paid £1500 each for the same thing. They want to come again, but the really great news is two of the kids want to come too :j sadly ds1 said I could’nt pay him to go :rotfl: (festivals are more his thing) and both kids and partners are paying for themselves too :D

Dh has paid the deposit of £32 each and I need to find £2.64 per day to pay for us both by jan 2021, unless it comes from the holiday fund.

It’s an unplanned spend but I’d seen it at the weekend on presale and they were released for sale today, the price did actually shoot up at 10am so we have done well to get it so cheap, plus I loved Norway and wanted to go back :T

£3.13 op made from topcashback today.

    Great news about DS1’s job!

Can I ask why the cruise money wouldn’t come from the holiday fund?! If it does then surely you’ll have more money to OP with! :p

Thanks mfd’s, it’s lucky timing really, I should try and remember when each season of cruises are released as it make a big difference on random cruises sometimes, other dates were quite a bit dearer.

Hi Vix, I’m just itching to be a bit more mean with the holiday fund and overpay it instead, I guess it’s swings and roundabouts anyway really :o

Day off today :j Going on the hunt for Xmas gift bags, hopefully will get a few £1 for 4 gold ones from the card factory again this year, I’m seriously considering wrapping a few bits and boxing them up soon, plus on the hunt for nice Xmas cards, I’ve been over frugal and bought a big value box as they were retro looking, but it turns out they were not kitsch, just cheap and bendy :rotfl:

The holiday sounds lovely. So nice to have something to look forward too.
I feel your pain re 1950's housewife baking as I end up eating most of it myself and the rest of the family eat shop bought things.

Hi cookie9, it’s annoying isn’t it! Mine were even like that as kids, maybe it’s my cooking though :rotfl:

Was hoping it was payday today but sadly it’s not, I will still check all the finances and have a look at the spreadsheet and have a play about with the mortgage end date. I feel like (aside from a holiday) spending has been a lot lower lately, due to trying to live on less and pay for dds graduation meal from the normal budget so I can keep hold of my secret cash savings envelope, it’s going well and hopefully I won’t have to dip into the cash :D

Next doors son smashed half our front garden wall last week, half of the whole wall actually, which had only had repaired last year, his mum must be away I guess as I’ve not seen her. Hopefully it will be fixed ASAP, Shen is the same neighbour that came asking for money for a new gazebo as when we had the loft conversion the builders made a (tiny) hole in her very cheap one, i of course paid (more than a cheap replacement in my opinion) but never saw a new gazebo ;) so I’m expecting an apology and prompt repair!
