When I went on the website only the new version was available, I've been using accounts 2l which somebody (I forgot who :o) recommended. It's simple enough for me to easily keep track of my daily spending but I'm not adding bills to it. Have you see. The old version still for sale anywhere?

Hi NG, hmm I don't know, but I'd recommend going on their interactive tutorials as that's how I won my copy, which I don't plan on upgrading if they charge monthly now for the new version :D

If you have found one that works for you that's brilliant, I'll check it out as I am always interested in financial apps ;) I presume Accounts 2 is an app so I'll check out Google Play...

H cath, does it matter when they first go out then? I assumed it would be on the original banks system as soon as it is set up, I'd better check too I think.

Probably not, I'm just a worrier. Let me know if you find out though. I'm annoyed I can't do a switch for dh as d**v**l**a won't switch the direct debits and neither can the bank.he has one other dd and a standing order

I am letting your insults wash over me :p :rotfl::rotfl:

GG the loan is just me switching from a higher to lower interest rate, the business is paying it back but we will make a small saving. :)

Well trepidation reading this thread is needed for sure today :eek:

Had a meeting with dh and his assistant manager (kind of invited myself along actually) and he has to make redundancys, two full time and two part time , plus cutting my hours by another day. Dd is also one of the part time redundancies , so clearly it means less money in pm.
Also is the added issue of redundancy pay , he was initially planning to put people on even shorter time to create a surplus to pay the redundancy , but I think it will take a lot longer and cost much more overall, soooo I think we borrow for the offset to pay it. I don't want to , but the company in theory can repay us in full in about three months with the wage savings. We are talking under 9k in total so although a lot, it's not wiping out the big sum we had earlier in the year.

As for the redundancies, it will be a nightmare, but the reality is we can't continue to lose money and although cruel if some go it will save the rest perhaps. We have already effectively cut wages by 25% over the last year or so (partly by reducing wages) , and it's not feasible to keep dutting everyone's wages.

So that's it for the moment, not sure what it means mortgage free timescale wise now, I know it's very selfish but I am peed off as it feels like we are in touching distance of the finish line which will now have moved again! I do know that we will be the most fortunate ones if dh can keep it all going and keep his job.

Other news today, the plug is blocked in the main bathroom £10 later on chemicals and it still won't shift, 6 of us here tonight , they will all be using my lovely bathroom in the penthouse tomorrow now, I don't usually allow them up there in my little corner of peace and quiet. :D

    Today's cinema update, 2 films X ds2 and I , total cost £0

    David Brent 7/10

Suicide squad 8/10 - second viewing , saw with dd last time.

Hi cath, can you cancel the dd via your bank and then set up a new one with the dvla, might be a bad idea though as perhaps it messes up your credit rating?

Sorry to hear about redundancies, I know it's a decision you have battled with for a while.

Hope sink blockage not too expensive too!

Re: direct debit I've just done exactly that. Hopefully don't need any credit for a long time so worth the switch. Just think we might be owed a months worth of payments somewhere along the line.
