That was such a shame about the trouble last night - glad your son and brother were ok, but it sounds like a scary situation.

My uncle was a keen West Ham supporter. When I was about 8, I'd go with my uncle and cousins (6 & 4) to reserve games, where the crowds weren't so bad.

I was a Chelsea supporter and when I was a bit older, about 10, my dad and uncle would take me to see Chelsea when they played at Upton Park. I'd be sitting there in my blue and white bobble hat, in a sea of claret and blue!

Now West Ham are going to the Olympic Stadium, it'd be really easy for me to get there on the train. But it's so expensive - I've got to the stage where I'd rather go to the theatre, if I'm spending that sort of money!

It's not cheap now is it GG! Chelsea would be extortionate, maybe try Barking and Dagenham or Leyton orient - much cheaper :rotfl:

Had a chat with my brother , ds1 and someone at work who was there, it's amazing nobody was crushed, my brother asked one policeman to stop sending fans down when they had started sending others back the other way as kids were getting crushed and his answer was - it's your own fault  unbelievable that none of that was reported in the news.

Stopped off in ald* on ten way home from work, tired and with no list , spent over £90 :(

That's a major @ldi shop. I forget how cheap it is there until I do a big shop elsewhere.

    Spent this month:

£209.01 groceries and school dinner top up

    £67.11 petrol

    £276.12 total

    £223.88 left

Still lots of food left, I was hoping to to do a Barbie but it's too chilly now :( burgers and sausages in the freezer ready for next time.

Feeling a bit deflated, things financially very tight at work again. We have still got the 10k my mum gave us from the sale of grans house, and I would love to spend a bit of it on a break but feel like I really shouldn't. It is going to sit it the offset savings account so I can feel like it is paid off the mortgage but is still available of we need it.

Its a strange feeling for me though, we have never had money like that before, the temptation does happen sometimes to spent it :o

We took the boys to look for tuxedos (or suits) for prom yesterday, total nightmare as expected, I thought we would buy as it works out about 10-20 each dearer as there are so many cheap ones around at this time of year.
We went to matalan which has the best range, but is sold out of either the jackets or matching trousers in all styles in their sizes, Instore and online. With a window of about an hour for shopping with 15 year old boys, and the fact they don't want to look the same, we went home and I ordered various combinations from Asda for them to sift through this week. Money is already set aside for this, so it wasn't out of the £500 this month or we would defiantly fail the target :D

Nothing planned today, just a bit of ironing, changing sheets and catching up on Bates motel with dd who is finally around to spend some time with, oh and maybe a dip in the hot tub :D

Dropped in to see how things are going and the cruise...

The short ones are very different to the long ones so don't be too put off, we looked at the Suez trip that left this week but decided to not bother, seems RCI are messing with things so my instinct paid off need to find something else now.

Nice change on the mortgage if you can load up the offset and not be tempted to spend, very good for cash flow.

Could get a interest free spend CC and load up the offset with normal spends and save a bit of interest a bit of stoozing.

Your DH doing a bit of declutter just makes me feel guilty so back in anothe couple of months to see how things are going.

Hi gm4l thanks for popping by :)

It's the first Rci cruise we have been on, I have to say I prefer P&O, less hectic everywhere, are you planning a sifferent cruise then?

I had not really considered stoozing, we already have just over £7k on 0% cards, so not sure if it would all get too complicated, or how to work out how much of a saving it would be?

Nsd today, dh has been oiling the garden table and chairs, I've been cooking and ironing and making............Gin and tonic slushies and Pina colada slushies  and then I have been testing them :rotfl:

The verdict is, they are very nice :D

Still thinking about what we want to do, we have time so plenty to choose from, I do dither a lot.

Friends wanted us on their trip which left Sat nearly booked that on Wed.

Stoozing is hard work these days, £10k over 1 year will save you £200
