Thanks for posting that gm4l, we have been to Glasgow before so would probably would prefer somewhere else, but what a crazy price for 5 nights - fantastic!
The Ventura cruise is the one I want, you are right it's £349 not £399 for inside, the Azura one would be great but clashes with a christening unfortunately.
For family holidays we always went self catering which is much easier to control spending, but for just the two of us it's nice to eat out and try different things (and a bit of luxury of possible) that's why I feel happy doing cruises as its all included, but at a price!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Unfortunately it's the christening on the 3rd and there is no way of getting there in time
Finally after weeks of watching the price has dropped a bit £329 down from £349, it's a start - come on p and o drop some more please
Went shopping and drew out my personal spends :j spent on coffee - my round this week £7, shorts for dh and ds1 £14 total, flip flops for me (I have a flip flop addiction , luckily I buy in primarni though!) £2.50 and flip flops for mum and aunt £1.50 each
Dh worked sat and sun this weekend and started at 3.30 am today, he has just rung to say he will be late tonight, we have just got a big job in with a quick turnaround, it seems like he is doing so much work at the moment to keep things afloat to keep everyone's jobs, this can't go on long term though. I think he is coming around to the fact that more changes need to be made and sooner rather than later.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
How exciting, I saw the magic words P & O, Azura and Ventura:j
I have been home by 10.30am from Southampton. This is doing the self help disembarkation, i.e. carrying off all our luggage and leaving at 7.15am.
But that was perfect road conditions and no delays in docking. I don't think I'd want to chance it if I had a christening to go to that afternoon
Hopefully you'll get something sortedEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Well I have managed to scratch the holiday booking itch
it's dds birthday in July and she wanted to go somewhere instead of have something, so I have booked a premier inn in Stratford upon Avon for her and her bf, right on the water by the theatre for £149 for 2 nights, plus return train travel for 2 for £25 , plus tickets for a mid summer night's dream at the rsc for £16 each, am very happy even if it's gone a bit over budget
total spend of £206 total , £26 over budget.
Will need to squeeze a bit for the boys' birthdays now - extra £52I have to spend the same on them, I guess on the bright side I have saved by not taking them away this summer as they all refuse to go :rotfl:
mr t shop on the way home of just under £10 (need to check receipt!) so hanging in there - just.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
New 0% cc applied for - 0% interest and no fee for 2 years with the aa. I have asked to transfer the Santander card balance of £4013 but I can't find the card number for the other card whose deal ends in June - £ 3114 balance.
I am quite tempted to just pay the other one off in full from the 10k I have been given, it still leaves the end date the same on the mortgage when I overpay the extra that I would normally pay of the card.
With a lower card balance I might also make more of an effort to clear it as much as possible in the next two yearsMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Yuk, I have seriously overdosed on alcohol - I shall never drink again :rotfl: curry with family round mum and dads, ending (After lots of bubbly and wine) with massive baileys and tiptree little scarlet strawberry gin, nice, but it's done me no favours!
Anyway, exams in full swing this week with mixed comments ranging from it went really well to really badly. Ds1 missed a whole question on his English paper even though I had talked at length the night before about the importance of reading the questions very carefully and multiple timesI will be so glad when it's all over.
Cruise watch still ongoing , we are down another £10 pp to £319 pp for four nights which is a pretty good price actually but some thing is holding me back from booking it, I think it's leaving the kids home alone!
My parents mentioned taking us all to LA this summer (they have mentioned it before then kind of retracted the offer!) the kids all said yes please, so I have no idea of if its a firm offer or not. If it is then it's very generous but a long way on a plane  I don't like flying much! Plus I can only imagine the amount of spending money needed for a trip like that.
Food spends up another £90 as I went and got a huge shop, perhaps trying a super tight budget was not the best idea when I have the kids at home revising, they are eating way more than usual, it has taken me over budget but I still should have around £160 surplus this month from being more careful than usual.
It's festival weekend , our town is taken over with 1000's of ravers, the locals hate it, it's in huge fields a couple of miles from the town but they don't have a licence to camp there so they wander drunk around the streets all night. We are tucked away up the cheap end of town so are ok, but my best mate lives right on the main road into town, she will be out there watching for trouble tonight
Frivolous spending this week- well my favourite online dress shop has a MASSIVE sale - Lindy bop, dresses down from £35 ish to £9 or £10 each, so I ordered 16  4 for dd to try as she has lots of posh functions coming up soon for the theatre, and loads for me to try. It was free delivery over £85 and I can sneak them back at work for free via our daily UPS pick ups, so it seemed a good idea to just try loads on! I have ordered size 12's though and I am currently a 14 as it seemed to daft to get the size I am when I am trying to lose weight and new dresses will be a big incentive to be good (ignoring last nights curry/drink fest)
Anyway, I am waffling on now so I will shut up.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I think you may have started something
, I just googled lindy bop and think I'm in love
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
Phase 1 - Emergency Fund - Complete :j
Phase 2 - £20,000 Mortgage Fund - Underway0 -
Oops sorry smlsave :rotfl: did you order?
I thought I'd have a go at giving up booze for a bit again, I have been drinking too much lately and that often leads to eating more too! I've borrowed a tape measure from mum as trying to measure yourself with a metal diy one is trickier than you might thinkTomorrow I'll have a measure up and weigh in first thing and update Mfp.
The cruise is off the cards for a while, we are unlikely to go twice this year and there is an Amsterdam on that dh would prefer later in the year, which might be a better idea for me as I can lose some fat first.
The trip to la is already off the cards as expected! Mum was clearly not that seriousand She is not too happy with dad today as he has just bought a classic car - a 1970 lotus , not cheap  that's him in the dog house for a while.
