Pay off mortgage and start having fun!

It's amazing the difference booking last minute makes cost wise, I am checking in on the cruise website daily just incase an incredibly cheap mini cruise pops up that fits inbetween the end of exams and the kids birthdays and college open days , an impossible task! I am also mentally doing my list of world cruises for when the mortgage has gone and they are all safe to leave for long periods
Don't think I will do the stoozing then, we will spend under 10k per year, so it's probably not worth the risk/effort!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

It would be more for cash flow than the saving but given y habit of buying cars and holidays probably best to have the money paid off the mortgage than sitting there temping you.:rotfl:0 -
Yes indeed!
Spending update: £10.45 on mc Donald's for the kids Saturday I forgot about and £6.05 in £1 land on milk etc. today, £207.38 left.
The surplus I am working towards for a break is probably not going to happen this month, I still need to get ds1s new trainers and am buying them both yearbooks £37 (for both not each thank goodness!) hopefully there will be something still left over if I can stick to the £500 budget.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Dh has been outside late last night stripping the bbq , it's a massive teak one that used to be my parents, I really hope we can have a Barbie this weekend
I've just started Paul mc kennas weight loss system. It's really good, you eat what you want but follow his 4 steps:
Eat whenever you are hungry
Eat what you want, not what you think you should
Eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful
Stop when you think you are full
It's seems pretty basic and obvious, but it's surprising clever as a lot of the time I don't follow those rules. It's quite liberating and in the last day or so I have felt far less hungry and less obsessed with what I will be eating later on! He says it's the opposite of going on a diet whch restricts you and make food more tempting - if you know you can have whatever you want you don't desire it so much.
I shall see how it goes, there is a cd that comes with the book which I have not listened to yet. I did order my best friend a copy from eBay too £2.78 incl. postage, if it works at the price I will be very happyMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I think a slight modification to the stop when you feel full.
Stop a little before, the aim is to stop feeling hungry and that response has a short delay
I think people can adapt to smaller portions very quickly by not letting themselves get too hungry, also potentially reduces cravings and moods.0 -
I think the the eating when you are actually hungry is very important, he says real hunger comes on slowly, if you are suddenly starving it's an emotional response.
Top up shop done in aldi £43.37  £164.01 left eek! Will put a bit of petrol in just incase I will run out later in the month I think.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
£6 of budget spent today in £1 land, and £23 of personal spends money (not been to Zumba for weeks due to bad back!) £4 left until Tuesday now  it was my turn to buy lunch whilst out with my friend and I bought her some sparkly sandals in primarni as a thank you as she always drives when we go out as she has a baby seat.
£158.01 left.
£50 of birthday budget spent on ds2 buying his actual seat from the stands at West Ham, he will LOVE this, so I am very grateful to my little brother for quickly getting it when he spotted they had put their stand on general release for anyone to buy, a close call
Child benefit forms need filling in for the boys as they are going to college we will still get it, not for dd though so that will be about £54 pm less. I wish we could have been one of those parents who saved or all for their kids when they were born, but we needed it most of the time
I am thinking of ideas for our anniversary, it will include a meal out with best friend and her dh, they took us to a lovely posh restaurant for their 10th anniversary last year and paid so we will pay for his one for our 20th. I thought a nice cocktail bar and a meal up town, perhaps give the ice bar a go as I have never been. Need to start a pot for this and decide what to do with dh too, I have until August 23rd to save.
Lawnmower sold as we now have a patio - £30 :TMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Crikey NG, I always thought you were quite tallA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
