NG, luckily I'll be happy to be the custodian of their house. I hope my son will be when I'm no longer around. Whilst I'll be disappointed if he doesn't want to, I won't force the matter.

As for not doing as you're told, you don't have to see your parents everyday and work for them. :rotfl:

Honestly Alex - normal houses don't have custodians. They have owners.

Yes I can see why it comes cross like that, it is done with affection though, they didn't need the money, it is more to celebrate gran and the end of an era. ;)

I think it's a great idea for you to get together and celebrate your gran. Personally, I love the idea of the champagne bottle

No and I would never want to work for them and see them everyday, it's bad enough having to see dh and the kids everyday sometimes :rotfl::rotfl:

My parents are easier to deal with than my wife at the moment. :rotfl:

Of course you have. It's not a stately home - it's just a house, albeit a largish one.

They are not the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and it's not Chatsworth.

It's just bricks and mortar and it can be sold !

My parents have quite clear expectations and consequences should I choose not to do as they wish.

If I could move, I wouldn't need to spend much if any more than our current house is worth. Commitments no object, I'd like to live in a house just a little bigger than my current one, with about 6-7 acres on Anglesey. It won't happen but I'd like to think I will perhaps buy a holiday cottage one day. :)

Last night's meal was great, lots of champagne, a ridiculous amount of curry followed by (most of us!) having a singsong at the table - Beatles hits, abba etc. :rotfl: we have not done that in a long time :D

Dinner tonight will be left over curry I think! Also it seems drinking bubbles stops you getting a hangover as I feel ok today, if only it was more mse :D

Time to check the accounts now, the cc statement is created on the 1st so not long to wait now.

Dh has threatened to clear the log cabin out , it's so full I am dreading it. It's kind of the same as when he used to get "loft rage" except in the garden :rotfl: we got rid of the garage years ago to make the garden bigger and no longer have a loft so it's a nightmare.

I have however managed to get him to think about doing a boot sale to get rid of most of it :T his default setting would normally be just chuck it all it's quicker! However I suggested that we should spend the next few months selling and saving of we can and have a weekend away for our 20th anniversary, I think it did the trick :D I may have mentioned goodwood revival ;)

Did a top up shop at Aldeee for £13.62 today and also wrote a list -shock horror and did a meal plan for the week, what is happening to me :D

What kind of car enthusiast gets rid of their garage? ;)

The Goodwood Revival is excellent. :) Years since I've been but I'm sure it'll make a lovely anniversary weekend away.

A car enthusiast that lives on the outskirts of London with a tiny garden and too many children :rotfl:

We did go to goodwood revival last year which was great, but we stayed in a very nice hotel in a suite for a couple of nights , so I dont really want to downgrade from that :o Plus it would be nice to dress in original 40's style this time (and er maybe hire a classic to go down in) not exactly an mse do really, we may have to sell a lot of junk to pay for that lot :D

Further, what kind of car enthusiast lives on the outskirts of London? ;);)

I think I recall you mentioning the Revival last year. :) As for '40's, I have a WWII RAF uniform, worn it a couple of times for a few different events including the last time I went to the Revival. Forgot why / how this got mentioned on MSE before but remember Gally thought it hilarious.

Sounds like GG :rotfl: Love to see everyone dressed up there :D

Dh is out in the garden treating the paving slabs with sealant :T I am hoping we can pick up the table and chairs this weekend too and will soon have a garden to actually use.

Today is the start of the £500 pm budget and I thought I'd post spending everyday, it will probably be a nsd as I can't use the cc until the evening usually when they make the statement.

Lunch today thought I would try a sweet potato and spinach frittata, sausages In brioche buns and Greek salad, if I keep pretending it's summer it might warm up a bit :D

    Happy Sunday :)
