I'm hoping drawing out cash once a month will make me feel richer than we actually are!

Clearing out grans house again today, one large skip full this time. I have taken 5 archive boxes full of various odds and ends of 60's /70's plates and coffee cups, will google and list on ebay or if not worthwhile boot sale next spring. Oh and a sparkling lemon big yankee candle.

I used to always just use cash when the kids were little, just now cards seem to have taken over especially with buying online. I am hoping it will be a wake up call for overspending
Dh in a bad mood, I'm feeling cross as I feel like I am the one who has had the worst week, its all very childish, sometimes we do need our heads knocking together :rotfl: marriage can be funny sometimes, I can go to bed feeling like I could cheerfully strangle him and wake up and all is well
Spending today: £5 on a bottle of red I am enjoying while watching dr who.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Cash is king, NG.
Seriously pleased for you that you're doing this, I think it's much easier to spend money on cards (credit or debit) than in cash.2018 totals:

Seriously, you are trying to do a lot on a tight budget and I think unconsciously there is probably an element to the overspending of 'it will be sorted by the time the CC bill comes in'. If I was you I would look at your spending and work out how much cash is needed for each category vs debit card purchases (I assume loading the Oyster is done on line for instance). Draw out the cash and only spend that. If you use the debit card more than planned you HAVE TO pay the excess cash back into the bank within x days.
This might not work but the current system isn't working so you might as well give it a go - I like the element of immediate accountability of it.
Hope you liked your new pj's - at least you didn't go out and buy a car :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I have missed a few episodes in this series, this one was great but I thought she would be ok at the end as she seems to have a lot of lives, dd very sad watching it.
Thanks for the not too harsh lecture GG:D Oyster top up is for dd so will also be cash, its more the online game credits etc. the boys buy with pocket money sometimes, or ahem, me buying a new dress to wear for xmas from amazonmore random unplanned spending I guess.I will give it a go now , if its not a better system then change back in january.
I should be doing more to up my income, but have been so busy latley and not in the mood really, these things seem to come easier in january.
Ds1 has 7 friends coming over to watch the football at 4pm so I might go and watch tv in the loft room (take the now tv sky movie box up there :happyhear) and sort out xmas presents today.
Not sure if grumpy hubby is at work today or not yet, I think we both need a nice relaxing mini cruise right now, bit of pampering, lots of food and.no stress for a few days , if only!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
