I've got some of those, but they date from about 1980. We haven't used them for a while - I didn't know they were back 'in' again!

Well done xspender, my lot are up in arms about sky at the moment , will set the humax box up at the weekend and see how it goes :D

:xmastree: The tree is up :j it was a bit spur of the moment but I thought it was pointless doing a full house scrub then making a horrid mess next week! Plus november has been rubbish so I am starting December early. We have retro foil pulley out ceiling decorations this year too and of those red and gold fringed "merry christmas" banners, its like a 1970's time warp here :rotfl: The kids are highly embarrassed, they don't appreciate I am ahead of my time decoartion wise and it will all be back in fashion soon :p

Plans for today, collect sale dress ordered from debenhams at lakeside black friday "shudder", house work and washing.

    We need a photo!

Useless at photo posting, gallygirl will come round and slap me if I ask how to do AGAIN :rotfl:

The outlaws are due soon, they have already tried to come an hour earlier and tried to get us to order the food at 6pm, waaayy to early for a takeaway. On the plus side I have already poured my first glass before they arrive.

The last two days were spent washing/ cleaning etc. hopefully now I can relax sunday as we have nothing planned :D

Financially I went over the allocation for nov from the 1000k budget oct-new years eve. Over spent by £20 ish so now have about £280 for dec, but we are not hosting xmas or boxing day.

Also had a long chat with dad last night , he asked about mortgage and was very shocked at how much pm it is (he knows what we earn more or less as he has seen the accounts) , don't think he believes how much we live off comapred to them :rotfl: Hope he is impressed! Lets just say their food bill for three (not including takeaways and going out) is over 5x our dec budget for 5.

I grew up with those foil decorations!

Night out sounds a good alternative to the hotel. Not worth it if it will cause more stress.

I have looked briefly at alternatives to sky so you have prompted me to do something about it!

We cancelled Sky at the start of the year, and to be honest we've never even missed it

Fairly good night last night, although bil brought his best friend along unexpectedly! A nice guy but , who does that without asking?! Apparently sil and fil had a huge row in the car on the way, other than that it was ok (they make my family look very normal :p) just glad I didn't do the xmas table presents I was thinking about, it would have been even more awkward.

Dd and dh at work, she wants to make herself some business cards as she has mananged to get a free ticket through college for a networking media event in london this week, £500 a ticket usually :T

Today I am planning to be super organised for the week ahead,

All washing ironing putting away done daily
    Meal plan for week today
Shop for food today (or perhaps an online shop)
    Pick up repeat prescription
    Cleaning, do a bit daily

    For today:

    Check bank accounts and update
    Buy and cook food
Set up new now tv box upstairs (£12..99. Black friday deal)
    Cancel sky
Order ds1 upgrade phone - have found a much cheaper black fri deal than I was going for :)
Relax and watch a xmas film

No shs he brought his wife too!

ok, expecting a telling off here but I have not cancelled sky, I have haggled them to the lowest price ever of £6 pm, so I can't resist and am sending the humax box back for a refund. We do record and watch a lot at the same time which the new box could not have done, that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

New phone ordered for ds2 ( he pays towards) £17pm for an I phone 5s which is a good price.

Feel like I am spending lots but it will reduce our monthly outgoings by £22.50 in total so I am pleased. Will read the meter in a minute, I have a feeling that will not be so fun though.
