That's a bargain for 8ky, great haggling! I feel the need for a new SOA in the new year. Hopefully it will show savings like yours.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Yuk, coming down with the lurgy, dd and ds2 arguing over a spider situation (ds2 is house spider catcher, he refused to get up until it had disappeared in her bedroom) dd upset, laptop of ds2 currently with me until I decide if I am overreacting!
Possible good news, may have more income as after a quick chat with the accountant we may be able to re jig how dh is paid (all above board of course!) don't know the figures yet but it will definatly be a help.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Feeling rubbish today, stinking cold and a busy day at work. Tomorrow I am going to spend the day in the west end with my best friend and we are seeing phantom in the evening as a belated 40th present from her dh, bit worried.about getting through the day feeling this rough though.
Keeping on top of the house work and washing has not really happened as planned, its pretty tidy but no energy for a lot else
Had a chat with dh last night, mum has told little brother she is giving us a few £1000 when she sells grans house, combined with dh's income hopefully paying less tax we should be able to make more of a dent in the mortgage. Its tempting to think about spending the extra to be more comfortable, but when the term is less than 6 1/2 years and the money could maybe knock another year or two off its well worth throwing everything into it.
Dh seems not too fussed really, I think he feels like we will never have any money and its all a bit pie in the skyIts made me feel much more.determined though and I can't wait to make next years op plans. The cash system is going well too, i think it will be easier to keep leftovers for saving.

Feeling terrible, left work at lunchtime (holiday not sick.as its just a cold!) £48 mr t shop, bought a £10 half leg of lamb towards the pre xmas, xmas dinner I am doing for my family in two weeks.
All day in london tomorrow and a show at night, currently debating which will make me feel better while i am out , paracetemol or a couple of glasses of wine  we didn't get organised enough to book a posh meal deal somewhere so best friend has booked prezzos xmas menu for lunch incase everywhere is chocca.
Feeling surprisingly relaxed about xmas even though we have lots going on, and am really looking forwards to new year and getting fit/losing weight. I have mentioned in passing that a fitbit may be a nice present. Have also bought a few tops I can exercise in from primarni gym section, will join mfp again and go for calorie counting and eating a bit more healthily. Has anyone been on the blog healthy happy hungry ? Its a great one for inspirationMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hope you are feeling better soon Newgirly. I know the short term left on the mortgage puts immense pressure on finances and can understand DH thoughts. However, in around 6 years (OP's will knock it down of course!) you will be very comfortable and can secure your future whilst having the treats you have gone without. It's a means to an end, your MF ways will ensure its not too miserable and you can have fun on a budget.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Thanks cath, I hope so, I think we are just a bit fed up at the moment.
I had a great day out yesterday with my best friend in London, Phantom was fantastic and we were very close to the front. We were not that organised and ended up in pizza express just off Oxford Street, then a bit off shopping- personalised nutella for the kids!
Today I feel even more poorly and have a bad stomach as well, we cancelled the friends that were due to come over.
I need to sort out the finances as I have a really busy week coming up and we are getting paid early in dec on Friday I think. Xmas presents need finding and wrapping too, and checking to make sure I've not forgotten any. There are so many things going on in December I am worn out before we have even started.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
It is that time of year for feeling a bit harried I think.
All the best xxx0 -
Hi newgirly just popped in to say thanks so much for your tip yesterday. :kisses3:
Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit fed up ...
Personalised nutella sounds amazing ... is it the jars or the flavours?!
I'm not doing too well with catching up reading longer diaries like yours, but I'll do better and be back!Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0 -
Hi hollyboll, hope you are feeling better
the personalised nutella was is just normal nutella with your name on the front, you type what you want on the front on an ipad in selfridges (£4.99 a jar though
) Definatly don't even try reading mammouth diaries like mine, life is way too short
Epic fail as my ds2 would say today, no cleaning donewashing and ironing up to date although currently piled up around the living room waiting for me to put it all away. Roast dinner cooked ( frozen potatoes tut tut) but not much else achieved.
I am very fed up with the fact I keep sabbotaging my own attempts at losing weight. Preparing healthy stuff is not happening and the only time I eat ok meals is when I have soup or frozen veggie low cal meals and veg. I swing from desperate to do well to s*d it who cares I am tired and fancy it :rotfl: I don't know, I lost 2 stones about 5 years ago by cutting cals , why am I struggling to do it this time? I feel like I want to succeed enough , but thats clearly not true!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Sneaking a quick lunch break, soup and an apple :A
I've decided I really don't enjoy work and would like to stop forever. Be a lady who lunches and swans around town in trendy lycra gym wear after working out, i could read in the afternoons and get my hair done.
Not that I managed much of that when I didn't work :rotfl: However, it is my new driving force.
If we clear the mortgage I can either:
Give up work - see above pastimes
Cut down down hours
Do something that doesn't involve working for my dh :T
Having a great monday :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
