:rotfl: Re. the cheese sandwich, if I'm telling someone they've paid too much, they really have paid too much.
Personally, if I were you I'd take something homemade to eat with your daughter at the open day. There's always somewhere nice to sit on most university campuses.2018 totals:

to be clear newgirly, I was trying to make the point that it's hard NOT to pay too much for a cheese sandwich when you are late and hungry in Lundon, let alone near Horrids. Impressed you 'fessed up and clearly know it was overpriced - that's all MSE is about, is thinking and making the choice … which for one lunch when you are hungry and the week you sold car is a perfectly fair one! Not to say frugal given the location and other choicesFleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0

It's all been going on here in the last few days.
I can actually appreciate both views as I stayed local to do my degree due to finances and definitely missed out on some of the social side, I also worked 15 hours a week and felt that stood me in good stead to get a job. There is very little difference between the 2:1 I got and the first I'm sure I could have achieved with the extra time on my hands. In terms of my career it made no difference and I was offered a place to do an ma which I deferred about 20 years ago due to financial restraints at the time.
When it comes down to it this is the route I had to take as my parents gave me no money or help, you just have to work a way to get where you want by the best means you can.
In relation to the sandwiches. I find I always plan ahead with everything I do due to dietry requirements and it works well, although I bet they were the most delicious sarnies ever !0 -

We rest our case :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Meeting the "tuesday lunch" girls on tues night for a meal out at wildwood, £10 for 2x courses plus a glass of vino, have not seen them for ages
Halloween getting closer and my first trip to pyo pumpkins looming :T
Budget on track (despite cheese sarnies)
