Awful week at work, dh very stressed again
just glad I am part time.
This morning I have managed to buy 2x laptops already
One for me (from some of the eric money, as it was partly birthday money) and one for dd for xmas. Nothing fancy but I was looking at them in mrt for £179 , then they popped up on hukd for £119 free del, £20 voucher and 1%cashback. :T
I have really missed having a laptop or ipad, and dd's second hand apple mac died a month ago and is £250 to repair.
I might go halves with the granparents on dd's for xmas as it may take me over her xmas budget, we are spending much less this year. So excited and they are dark blue
Off to make a coffee and an op before I buy anything elseMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Nothing else bought and a £1500 op made to the mortgage
On a less positive note, £270.80 spent from the 1k budget , Mr t had nice wine very cheap so I bought 7 bottles of white and 2x red wine boxes half price, average price under £3 a bottle, need to hide it now and make it last until xmas. I now have household cleaning/laundry/toiletries and wine in advance.
Will do some cooking tomorrow , there is lots in the cupboards and fridge so time I got organised.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Feeling rough today, late patents open evening at college and then not much sleep after an unpleasant exchange with dh, stress levels are at boiling point again and there is not much realisticly that can be done about that at the moment. He will be working all weekend to try and prepare for the show on tuesday, and its nothing I can help with, as he is pretty unreasonable at the moment, so I am slightly relieved which is bad of me.
So for today, I am blocking out the negatives and trying to see the positives.
Kids are ok, unsure about what to study but still working hard
Gran about to go into a home, no more moving hospitals
Best friend, always cheers me up on our weekly meet up
Since july when I had a lot of advice to sort out the finances from you lovely mfw's ( ie. massive kick up the b*m!) I have stuck to it, paid whats properly due on the mortgage and extra
Just had a look on rightmove, three years ago i worried should we spend on a loft room, our house was only worth 230k ish, withe the stamp duty threshold at 250k it may havd meant losing money if we sold. It was the right property not just for the family but financially too, property has risen a lot so its no longer a concern, now worth 380k plus in its slightly shabby state. ( am ignoring the repercussions of this on the kids ability to buy , as this is a positve list) so a big financial risk that paid off.
70 sleeps until xmas
If we make it, we only have 6 years and 7 months left on the mortgage
I have lots of wine :rotfl
Oops, nealy forgot all the kind mfw's always there to help!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Just made an extra op, I worked out that the £1500 op from yesterday won't knock a month off but an extra £55 will, it would be rude not to
used a bit of xmas money but I couldn't resist. When october's payment is made it will also knock the figure to a couple of pence under £130k. :j
I've also again tweaked the budget, have cut the birthday budget to £30 pm, cut the £20 pm credit card op , and cut out the £30pm emergency fund. All the extra will go to the mortgage. If i can stick to this every month plus the extra month just shaved off, it will knock 7 months off giving me an end date of sept 2021 , exactly six years from now.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Great stuff NG and good that you are stocked up on essentials
