All the money was saved in advance as I booked a long time ago. £220 spent, holiday budget is currently £30pm so everything to do with going away comes from that rather slender budget.

If it was all saved in advance why have you used up nearly all the anything else budget as well?
I've almost spent the entire budget from the "anything else" category, but still should have plenty in the petrol and food budget. That's because it was the kids birthdays and with no birthday savings set aside as I've just started, I used that money to pay for the cinema, cakes etc.

The holiday spending money was saved up for last year, the "everything else" budget which I started for the first time from July the 9th this year went over the months allocation as I used some for the twins birthday treats (not presents) too.

Glad you enjoyed cp, I think you did fabulously to spend £200 for five. I'd love to go, but the costs always scare me. A friend of mine takes her daughter Iin Jan every year for her body and its usually 179 Fri to Mon so very reasonable

We are going to cp in November for the first time and I'm already planning our second trip! We will cook our meals in the lodge so hoping for a low spend trip. Have debated whether to take the slowcooker! Glad you are having a good time Newgirly.

    Thanks ourcornercottage :)

Sarah Evie that's incredibly cheap, the cheapest 3 bed weekend is £399 so far, not much cheaper than a summer midweek

Hi cath, I would take the slow cooker if you will use it, we literally took the kitchen sink this time, we have a seven seater and two of the kids went in my parents car so we had more room :o Taking everything with us saved a lot of money! I also noticed a few people taking their own badminton rackets and staying on court after the time booked if there was nobody waiting. A bit naughty but I would consider that for next time myself perhaps.;)

Ive started going through the cupboards to use stuff up, so far I've made a dozen chocolate muffins with a cake mix and 6 cookies from a packet mix. It will be easier to meal plan without cupboards crammed full of stuff we don't use.

£59 spent yesterday in Mr t ,couldn't face parking in aldi on a Saturday :o did get shed loads of fruit and salad stuff for my new health kick , no alcohol :T today I'm roasting a mahoosive gammon joint from xmas, it won't fit in the big slow cooker so I guess I just sling it in the oven? Lunch and dinner for me already made , brown rice and veg salad for lunch , feta aubegine and potato salad for tea. The family will be eating gammon for all meals until its gone :rotfl: feeling more positive about the weight loss and financial targets at the moment, just hope it stays that way :D

Had a shuffle yesterday and xmas is now completely covered, as long as I include the £35 pm savings too, which is a relief, operation slim down needs to start next year though

September is mum, dad, brother and dh's birthdays, I have money budgeted for all from the birthday fund plus the bit extra I had over from cps. Ive allowed £50 for dh but have no idea what he wants.

One idea was to book a premier inn room as a new hotel has just opened in the centre of bury St Edmund's where we used to go and visit the xmas market (without the kids!) Its £53 for the fri night and the petrol would be about £15. Plus there is a huge wetherspoons right next to it virtually so we could eat lunch\dinner there for about £30 all in. It takes me over what I had planned to spend, but would be a very nice treat. I could use some of the holiday budget to cover the difference as strictly speaking we would be going away :D
