Thanks greent,
Up at five this morning, I'm fairly organised and have a sundried tomato and onion loaf in the bm ready for tonights dinner with hm chilli oil.
Watching the news this morning and it looks like the interest rate is predicted to go up by the end of the yearmy deal is up June next year I think, currently 2.59% and payments £1839, Chelsea's current 5yr fix is 3.09% which would add £31 pm (£1870) how much will of go up by next year?
4.09% will add £93
4.69% will add £132
5.09% will add £158
I've gone for 2 year fixes for the last two years, however I think the security of a longer fix might be better. I'm currently paying and extra £60 pm on top (starting this month) pushing it further than that will be very hard but I think I may have to !MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Best of luck with the mortgage decision.... We've arranged for ours to go on to a a fix from 1st August - we're fixing for 10 years. It's adding a little bit to the payment as we were on a 2.5% BMR and I think the new rate is something like 3.09% (ish), but I liked the idea of not having to think about interest rates ever again (aiming to pay it off at the end of the 10 years - famous last words!).0

I think a person can get a mortgage to buy this dream house But before getting into any debt you must consult a financial expert to get an easy and suitable solution for your problem.0

Picking up on this...This month (I run from the 9th to the 9th) I've almost spent the entire budget from the "anything else" category, but still should have plenty in the petrol and food budget. That's because it was the kids birthdays and with no birthday savings set aside as I've just started, I used that money to pay for the cinema, cakes etc.
.
budgeting properly...
The kids money comes out of their budget for the year, just goes negative till it catches up.
it does not come out of the anything else pot.0 -
It's from the treat budget , not the kids DS or birthday budget really as that's more for presents.
Centerparcs is great , currently making use of the free WiFi while the kids play tennis. On budget just about , £35 left for today now, a BBQ planned for tonight with the ton of meat I brought with us although my parents are getting an Indian takeaway from the onsite restaurant as they don't fancy BBQ. I do love it here but you could spend an absolute fortune if you didn't plan meals.
Not sure if parents are enjoying it, they have done no activities and didn't bring any swimming gear with them as they wont swim. They are only early \mid sixties but they seem to do way less than they used to they last time we went away three years ago. They have gone out for the day today to find a local town.
Plans for this afternoon, possible swimming , pool tables , racing simulator then BBQMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

I love CP but do find that the activities cost way more than when we first started going (back in 1999) And the shop used to be comparable to Tesco - it's not standard 'campshop' type prices - ie: a bit inflated. We tend to take a reasonable amount of food but still have (usually only the one) a meal out there - which is easily £150 for the 6 of us (with no alcohol!) Most of our time is spent in the pool - it's free, after all! We take a picnic with us into there and top up with chips and maybe icecreams (not healthy, but it makes it all seem like a treat!:D)
Glad to hear you're having a good time

It's stupidly expensive isn't it greent , we did have pancakes the last night (I didn't ) dh paid a bit towards it and I managed to come home with £20 out of £240 ,which I thought was pretty good for five of us. I did have to buy a few groceries as I left the second smaller cool bag in the fridge at home
I don't think my parents enjoyed it and didn't really join in or go out, still the kids enjoyed it and getting teens up and playing sports is a major victory in my book they even said they "might" go back which for them is high praise indeed
Would love to go back next year and its would be way cheaper as the kids finish school weeks before everyone else , I will have to wait and see how the budget goes I guess.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
What's the treat budget for the year and how much have you used on this trip?0

All the money was saved in advance as I booked a long time ago. £220 spent, holiday budget is currently £30pm so everything to do with going away comes from that rather slender budget.
Just weighed myself, ive put on four pounds in the last few weeks. Not good, tomorrow is the day I start trying to be a bit better with food and exercise, its not that easy at the moment as my throat has been playing up again. So I'll focus more on the food side of things not the exercise for the moment.
Ive logged into myfitnesspal and updated. Its quite good timing as its the first tomorrow so a good time to have a dry month or two.Ive found a fabulous blog called healthy happy hungry with tons of good recipes and advice from a girl who has lost 100 pounds. My target is 44 pounds or 3 stones two pounds
Target weight loss is two pounds per week, which takes me to the 2 and of Jan 2016, so morepr less a target of losing the lot this year
It won't hurt to have something else to focus on now I can't spend much money! If I do OK I can get some new clothes as xmas presents :money:
August's financial challenge is as mentioned before - earn as much as possible making extra efforts other than my normal day jobMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
