Hi thanks pearla, sorry I've not visited your diary in a while, I hope you are well :)

Spent the morning at grans cleaning her house with mum , whilst my boys dad and brother cleared the garden and her sorted her massive fish pond. Then back to hospital for visiting again with mum.

I went to the mini Mr t nearby tonight and bought myself a bottle of red, a piece of Brie and some crackers, simple but lovely pleasures :D
Also bought the kids maltesers each and wouldn't hand them over until bedrooms were tidy, it's an effective way of getting things done :rotfl:

Don't want to get out of bed and defiantly don't want to work today :p have just realised the twins school trousers are still in the wash basket so am officially a rubbish mum :o thought I'd managed to keep on top of most things this weekend as it was a bit crazy, never mind I shall febreeze and iron them for today and dry the other pairs while I'm at work.

Need to go food shopping and visit gran in hospital after work, I think I really prefer not working, I fancy going for coffee and mooching around the shops today!

I visited gran today and she seemed much worse , couldn't even hold a plastic beaker herself to have water. Mums been told by the consultant that she was on the wrong medication but is now doing well and being discharged in a couple of days.

So I went and spoke to the nurse outside her bay and she said grans tired as she is wandering around (without her frame) all night , she's eating and talking to them all which is not the impression we get whilst there.

So mum bluntly asked the nurse is she playing up while we are all here and the nurse said yes I think so  not sure what to think really.

This has turned into my grans health diary lately :o I shall have to check the account and post something financial before I go to bed :rotfl:

Thanks Cath feel all embarrassed you saying that :D

Today's issue is dd's 18th - she has been allowed to put on a show with another intern at the small theatre she is doing work experience at :T two others are writing it and she is producing and doing many other jobs to get it ready. I'm very pleased for her and she's over the moon.

But of course it's the weekend of her 18th :( that's fine as she is happy doing it, her birthday is on the Saturday and she'll be there every night in the run up and it finishes Sunday , plus she will be rehearsing for weeks before.

I'm trying to think of how we can celebrate around it , ie book a meal after the show in London, but 1). She will want to be around after the show and 2). She wants nothing booked as she needs to focus on the show. 3) she's. Not sure if she wants family at the show , it could be off putting. Any other days/night s are now out of bounds as she needs to focus too!

Does anyone have any good ideas that I can do at home in the mornings perhaps :rotfl: she s even wanting the family bbq cancelled on the Sunday as she wants to go up early. I'm trying to be positive but argh !! its hard to smile and say ok fine love it's up to you. I want to spoil my girl :p

You definitely deserve that Pimms! And anyway, this the season so a very MSE buy methinks. ;)

Your DD - can you do the BBQ the weekend after? Then you could have extended birthday celebrations? Give her extra pressies every day in the run up (small cheap things with little extras for the party ie. party poppers/supermarket birthday bits & bobs?). Can you send anything to the theatre on her birthday as a surprise - helium balloon or something perhaps? Or even do something like that in the morning (I got a huge box when someone sent me one, it was hilarious and very memorable). Maybe hit pinterest for some daft ideas, like string up a 'doorway' of balloons (they hang down from streamers across the door) which might be a good surprise in the morning? A special picnic hamper (daft sweets etc?) she could take with her and share with friend's on the day while they're working?

I so well remember that age, you get so focussed on what you want to do, lol. You'll get plenty of other big birthdays with her I'm sure, even if this one ends up being an extended one xx

PS. I'm just trundling along, fairly fine & dandy, cheers :)

PPS. I've been used to my own schedule during the days as well, this working at set times malarkey is such a nusiance. :rotfl:

Hi pearla , some nice ideas there thanks :) I shall defiantly decorate as much as possible even if we don't end up doing much.

Very tired tonight but can't sleep due to dh crashing around clearing out the understairs cupboard ( we are having a charger for the electric van fitted tomorrow) He suffers from "Under the stairs cupboard rage" it's kind of like the "loft rage" he used to suffer from every time he went in the loft to search for something ,in the days when we had a loft :D

Lots of good ideas there. Agree about extended celebrations too. Seems pretty standard for big birthdays these days. What a focused and mature young lady you have there!

Cheers Cath, not sure where she gets it from :rotfl:

Fed up today , the house is a tip and I'm too tired to clear up let alone clean :o

I'm dodging it again tomorrow as I'm out for coffee with my best friend and her youngest , so lots of cuddles :T I did manage to paint a couple more walls white in the living room. How can painting white over pale cream take so many coats?

I've also won an ikea canvas on flea bay I wanted in the shop the other day £10 instead of £35 instore. Now I have two gustav Klimt pictures that nobody likes except me. :D
