Dh just left for, work and told me he's set up a direct debit for £20 pm to pay towards the work van being charged at home :T. Very shocked as he said it's not worth the bother and the business is already paying our astronomical internet charges ( tied into a business contract plus the kids use more than is normal ) so a nice change of heart and hopefully wont cost as much as £20pm to run! ( if only our seven seater was so cheap ) he is also feeling a bit guilty as we now have a massive white charge point on the front of the porch, I've been promised a big potted plant to cover it.

My tesco hudl is still in for repair and I'm using dads new iPad Air 2 he got, with his new mobile contract for free. I love it and miss my old iPad I broke now :( please stop me thinking of buying one as its a very stupid idea.

I hope you are finding a little time for you and the family, you have had a tough time of it over the last few weeks.

    How is your Gran doing?

Hi ed, grans doing a bit better thanks for asking, still in hospital but hopefully out next week for a short stay in sheltered housing to assess her. Hopefully we will spend some time with the kids tomorrow when they are all gracing us with their presence for a bbq at my mums - although it's torrential rain here today so not sure if that will happen.

Dh loves the electric van more than he loves me :rotfl: to be fair it's a buzz charging it up for pennies and getting 100 miles up on the dash board, aside from the huge vehicle price tag it's an Mse'ers dream.

Need to do the finances , this months budget started on the 9th and has taken a hammering, £140 towards the school bus, £30 oyster top up £22 school books £30 school dinner top up , and that's before I've started spending, kids are expensive!

Any chance/point in solar panelling your abode for the obvious synergies? :)

I did briefly look into it a while ago, but I'm not sure if it would pay for us to do it now as the incentives have been cut a lot by the goverment and we don't have cash to spend up front anyway unfortunately.

Off to see madness on Friday at Newmarket races, we are having a posh picnic in the car park first which I'm sorting out this week (there are nine of us in total , blokes from work , my parents and aunt.) I have "grown out" of my suitable dresses :( but have bought a lovely blue polka dot fifties halter dress from Amazon in the sale for just £17.99 :T

I have found a great blog today though, hungry healthy happy. Lots of receipes and getting healthy tips from a young British girl who has lost about seven stones I think. I'm going to give that a go starting this week as my target of losing a stone in weight was when we go to the races Friday and two months later I've failed. My target will be about two and a half stones I think, which will mean a size 12 with the occasional size ten hopefully :D

Back later with a financial update :)

Surely an element of this would be deductible as a business expense? Not saying that it would pay for the panels, but might reduce the initial cost.

I think the van only cost a few pounds a week to charge, so I doubt we could off set a lot from charging it at home. Not sure about panels at the factory, at the moment it's an expense we can't afford , but defiantly worth looking at in the future. It's really helps when tendering for work that we now deliver daily in an electric van, lots of the museums etc. are very interested in that type of thing.

Budget quickly checked and it's all bad  out of my £700 monthly budget I have spent £541 in the first twelve days of the month. Oops, I blame the kids and their school/college for bleeding us dry :rotfl: that doesn't include any of the bits I bought to tart up the living/dining room:

    So far:

£61 white paint and gloss and rollers etc.
    £25 canvas from ikea
£20 for 2x ikea canvas's on flea bay ((saving £40 from new)
£162 for 8 new comfy dining chairs from Argos in a mega discount deal :money:
£4 for 2x big tea light holders asda
£18 for 2x big velvet cushions asda - more to buy when i find what I like
    £5 table runner ikea
£14 white table for TV (only one that fits) ikea

    Total so far :£309

This is coming from the premium bonds I'm cashing in soon £950 , I'm doing the whole house up on a shoestring :D
