Hi Alex, yes weve already managed that, but she is very stubborn!
Went to the doctors who had rung gran before our appointment , gran then rang me to tell me the doctor had called and wanted to see her but she wasn't going. (Didn't tell gran I was in the waiting room) told her I had to pick up ds2s asthma prescription and bumped into the doctor who wanted to check her "blood pressure" as any thing else would be too a no, upshot is she is going on Monday when my mum is back from holiday.
However I'd she declines help there is nothing that can be done apparently.
Aunt drove over from Suffolk and has found more personal hygiene issues that we had no idea about, its all pretty upsetting but gran seems not worried which I'm not sure is good or bad.
Dd is at theatre every night this week too so no early nights, families eh!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Today has been the longest day ever.gran still really bad and ive spent literally about 10 hours on the phone to family\doctors\social services\dementia helplines. I've asked mum and dad to come home from holiday as they should be involved in these life changing decisions. I am disappointed I had to ask really

Morning, I'm sorry to read you're going through all this. Dementia is such a difficult illness and it takes a while to determine the extent.
Good luck with the Dr and hopefully a way can be found, to give her the right level of care.
I'm not sure if this helps but I know from personal experience that on occasions you have to be tough, really tough, which is hard. My sister and I once arranged for my father to go into respite care for two weeks, to give mum a rest. If we hadn't, I truly believe she wouldn't be here now. It was extremely painful and sad but was the right thing to do.
Take care and I truly hope an acceptable outcome ifs found.

As it's carers week it does focus the mind on how tough this can be, both emotionally and physically. I hope things get sorted and peace of mind is restored.0

Major hugs, newgirly. What a hard thing for you all to go through.
Mr Merle's gran has quite severe dementia, but we've both experienced very ill grandparents and it can be so stressful. I hope things are resolved as best they can be soon. Thinking of you all xx
