Its growing on me, the loft room is quite spacious and all white with an off white carpet and I love it , I have different duvet sets and cushions for each season so I can redecorate easily, its just a lazy persons colour scheme really :p
I do need to change the art work too though in the living room , I fancy something different.

Still not sure what to do with the premium bonds, I've decided to do the house makeover on an almost zero budget, I'm watching a few items in furniture on flea bay for the living room, we currently have very boring pine dining room chunky table and welsh dresser. I fancy some G plan\ ercol type retro seventies table and chairs and sideboard. As usual not brand new as furniture is so expensive and I find new stuff is often made of cardboard and not wood. Still could be hard though as prices have gone through the roof for the original stuff.

I love newly decorated rooms. They become my favourite room in the house. Am sure it will grow on you too.

Hi lucky in life , we had a loft conversion company in to do the work about a year and a half ago. It was a full conversion with a dormer across the whole of the back of the house , a bedroom about 19x19ft and a separate bathroom with shower cubicle and bath, it cost about £32 k with bathroom tiling etc. Not sure if you wanted that much info but when we were thinking about it ,I could never find much info on prices online. :)

The premium bond options are - leave them there , cash them in and spend a bit on the house , op the mortgage, or a bit of both.

Nice lunch with dhs Spanish aunt and uncle at his mums although they don't speak English so we need a translator, I think we may go out with them Tuesday before they fly back, its not in budget but we need to make the effort as they are quite elderly and dont come over much.

Horrid morning so far, woken at 4am by my little brother who was called by my gran who had fallen in the night. My parents are away in devon so we had to drive over and get her up. She didnt hurt herself but was confused. Her health has deteriorated rapidly in the last few months, she is frail and weak but refusing any help at all and won't see a doctor.:(

We are going the doctors when they open asap ( little bro and me) but she will NOT go point blank. My parents have discussed what to do about the situation but not really done anything except offer to out put a shower in \rails up etc.

Its just really hard to know what to do, this is the best opportunity I will get to get some thing done to help her, but I'm not sure its possible to force someone to have help if they don't want it? She clearly is not washing properly or eating well either.

Oh gosh that's difficult Newgirly, what a relief she is not badly hurt. Definitely good to find out what caused her fall though, would gp home visit? There are lots of services out there that can help, pride just gets in the way of our precious elderly from accessing support.

That's the problem cath, she could have carers and a cleaner my parents would pay I'm sure , but she won't allow anyone to help. Our gp (I have the same one) does not do house calls as far as i know, will know more later .dh says I should have called an ambulance as they would have taken her in and kept her there to check her over , but I'm not sure they would have as she was not hurt, plus she would have been devastated as hospital is her biggest fear.
