Mr GG has one of those as well. 51, so I win :rotfl:. Do you think they're all related.

Its lovely here in my garden this morning, the suns out , my flowers (and a few tomatoes) are looking great, I am so glad I claimed back the garden from the kids this year and banned footballs:D I am going to drink my coffee and pretend I am on holiday for 10 mins before the big clean up and BBQ prep starts.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I don't think I would feel comfortable with the allowance, unless your daughter knew it had to pay for something specific.
I think I'd kind of feel like it was undermining my values and what I was trying to teach my kids.
Paying into a savings account does sound a good option. That way there will be a lump sum when she really needs something.0 -
Being a trusting bumpkin type I have never worried about paying by paypal and collection in person.
Have done it loads and never had a problem.

Thanks Michelle, bq wolf and alchemical for popping in.:)
In the end I had a word with mum and declined the offer, but did point out if it was for future savings it would be different.
Yesterday was manic, we had the BBQ for dh's friend and his family, hard work and actually a few items damaged too. we are not really that into entertaining socially much except the odd family meal or kids friends and parties.
Today dd went to the new college to meet her form and tutor which went well, tomorrow she has to go back for a tutor interview and screening. Only small problem is it may well make it very hard to get to the hairdressers for her prom hair do  I can't believe its come round so fast.
I have lots of girls getting ready at our house, I have said some can stay over after it ends around 11.30pm, but apparently they all want to get changed and go and hang around the streets/ park for the rest of the night, goodness knows why. Dd is not keen (and also not allowed :rotfl:) so hopefully at least one will come back and stay over so she is not the odd one out.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Hope dd enjoys her prom, leaving school is much more evenful than when I left. Great news on the sale of the tent, that will really help with the loft expenses and I'm really happy for you that you got a good price.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
