My dh has invited a work friend and his family for a BBQ tomorrow and I have no money and no food for it really, so I'm going to have a google and see if I can find some ideas for it and then go and buy some bits from mr t .
So far all I have thought of is : burger, sausages and rosemary roasted mini potatoes.
Back later with fabulous frugal plans :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well done on the tent :T
What about BBQ pulled pork? Slow roast a pork shoulder joint in the oven and finish off on the BBQ, serve with HM coleslaw, corn-on-the-cob and crusty bread rolls/French stick.
bbcgoodfood has a good recipe - search for BBQ pulled pork sandwichMortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

I need some opinions on something, if you wouldn't mind lovely mfw's. last night my parents were over and dad asked dd if she had a bank acct as they want to start to give dd an allowance direct to her bank. They already give her and the twins pocket money £20 each per month ( they also get the same from us plus phone contracts paid for ) I asked what for and they said just because they want to, I said (thanks obviously) but if they wan to help dd that I would prefer they saved some money on her behalf for her future ( also doing the same for the twins at the same time).Just to add, we do give dd £20 a month , so she currently get £40 plus a bl*ckberry n contract paid for , bus faes paid for and I will give her a bit extra for college lunches and buy her equipment and some new clothes , oh, plus we bought her a video camera for working hard in her exams which she will need for her new course.
Personally, I think they should have asked you first. I would put the money in an account for her future. Like you say, driving lessons and education.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Never heard that beforeI just don't want my lot getting any ideas that its a lifestyle choice for them!
Peonie, dd already gets £40 in total (£20 us £20 them) this will be an unspecified amount I am not sure of but I am guessing probably more than that as it as gong to be a direct debit into her current acct, if it was a small amount they would just give her the extra cash I think.
I have just had a PM from a fellow mse re who is concerned that my tent buyer has paid by PayPal and then decided to collect in person tomorrow, apparently this means he will have proof of purchase and I will have no proof of collection  its a bit late in the day to do much about it I suppose, I am going to ask home to sign to say he has received it, anyone else had experience of this ?MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi NewGirly, I've had a few people collect eb@y items. I always make them sign a copy of the sale details, which I pull directly from the site. A few people have asked why and I just say to ensure I have proof of collection. Mr T has been tempted to take their photo with the goods but that seems a bit OTT
