Take care newgirly, I hope everything works out well for you and the family....0

I have ds1 off today sick, so we are shut in the lounge with the the dog while the builders start (and finish hopefully!) the ceiling. We have to have the window open as the dog has been out in the rain and is very smelly, so we have candles burning and are buried under crochet blankets like a pair of old ladies.:D
So I thought I'd sort the home ins out, re-newal was £149, so I compared online and got it down to £130, rang the existing provider and they offered £126.75, which is about £20 cheaper than last years.:T
However I have kind of cancelled out the saving by doing my usual and getting sky movies for the last 3 months of the year - I can't resist all those xmas films. Anyway, managed to yet again get that for 1/2 price too so its £8 pm which is worth it over autumn on those cold weekends where we can't be bothered to go out!
I've been buyimg lots of dvd's for the kids for xmas as they have all asked for lots on their lists and in the main I have got them from fleabay. I did ask whether they would rather have less or go for second hand and get a few more, which they were happy to do. They tend to want older box sets of stuff , which can be silly prices if they have not been released recently.
Later I will definatly do a plan for 2013's op's.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Hope everything settles down for your DH workwise, he puts in long hours and this added stress is no good.
Good going on the home insurance renewal, always nice to save a few pounds.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Best wishes from me too ~ hope things work out'A watched potato will never chit'...0

Thanks everyone, thats very kind. I have tried not to mention anything on here as much as possible but it might have a big impact on our hopes to op.
I've had my mil on the phone this morning to let me know I am not a good dil as I did'nt ring and tell her about dh. (He insisted not to as they will ring him at work constantly) Quite a rant really, oh well, I already knew I was not that popular with them.:pMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Sometimes you just can't do right for doing wrong. You didn't tell MIL because your DH didn't want you to, that's you being loyal to your DH, not being a bad DIL to them. I hope they don't start pestering him at work as it sounds like he could really do without that added pressure.'A watched potato will never chit'...0

:jThe builders have plastered the ceiling, fitted new low voltage spotlights and put in the worktop/sink/taps today, there is still lots for us to finish but the tricky stuff is sorted.
I have been staying out of their way today by going xmas shopping with my friend, have spent all the spare cash I had but got lots of bits, this year WILL be the year its all bought and wrapped before dec 1st.:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Dh has been a bit better this week with stress, although did have a bad day yesterday, but seems calmer and is sleeping better.
I have been up early and stumbled across the mfi3 thread which I swear I had joined already, but don't seem to have.
So I have signed up this morning :j My target is :
Start balance estimate £145,185
3 year target get down to £100,000
This means I have to make my monthly payment of £1504.57 (thats already the tricky bit) and then op by exactly £81 per month to hit the 100k target.
It would be nice to do a proper plan for 2013, as dd wants a 16th party  , we also have the school prom , plus I would like to do a holiday she will enjoy as she will be wanting to stay home for family holidays soon (well she does now but is not allowed)
I'm thinking about butlins, as although not my personal fav type of holiday there is lots to do and the kids can be a bit more independant as its all in one place, plus we could go 1/2 board. So it will probably be the case that I will have to try and sell stuff or work more to pay for it.
The huge tent dh bought this year might just be one of the things that gets sold as none of the kids want to go camping again and its bigger than our house almost , so not much good for the 2 of us if we ever et the chance to go away alone.
