Spaces are too small. I can get into them with a narrow car, but anything bigger and there's less than a foot each side to the line. With wonky parkers it's often impossible to get out of the car0

I also park as far away as possible in an empty part of the supermarket car park. It's quite good if there are other nice cars there as you know they're doing the same as you (trying to avoid door dingers!) There's a kind of unwritten rule that you always leave at least an empty space between cars. Needless to say i've came back to my car before and had a beaten up old car parked right next to my one when there's been loads of empty spaces. Why? My cars not lonely. Do they do it to annoy me?
I do this too - it does wind my OH up a bit though as it usually means she has to walk a bit further to get where we are going. I always try to get an end space but if there are non available I try to park next to a car thats more expensive than mine.
I remember an incident once in the car park at Frankly services. There was a rather nice DB9 parked up and some old Vauxhall Cavalier pulled up next to it. The passenger opened the door into the DB9 so hard that the whole car shook - I don't know how the alarm didn't go off - it looked pretty deliberate to me though. Some people are scum and should be shot. Unfortunately I didn't see the owner of the DB9 so I couldn't tell them.0 -

Trouble is Jackie when you do that with the last 2 spaces in the car park. It happened to me a few months ago. I asked the other driver to move over, there was more than adequate space. I got blanked, so as the other car was up to the barrier I did what was posted earlier, simply parked accross it and went shopping,
We all need to be a bit more considerate you know
, which I realise is a contradiction in view of what I've just posted, but well....... I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

I don't mean for one car to take up 2 spaces by parking half over the lines. I meant that most of us, if the carpark has plenty of empty spaces, and you're parked at the far end, just leave a whole space between you and the car next to you. I think most people who are parking far away from the shop do this.0 -

No problem.
I respect other people's cars, regardless of their age and condition. I just wish everyone did the same. I don't like selfish parkers either. 0 -

Problem is cars are about, at a rough guess, 6 or so inches wider than they were 10-20 years ago, generally have poorer visibility, especially for reversing. Many car parks have not been updated, or just try to cram in as many cars as possible. Then, of course, there's the SUV plague.
Not really surprising the problem is getting worse. Doesn't help that many people just see a car as an A to B tool, wouldn't care if it happened to theirs and can't understand that other people do care.0 -
I have had to push my car out of spaces before, reaching in sideways from the driver door to let off the handbrake and pushing or pulling it out. Because someone has parked so close to me.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
