I'm due to be flying off on a package holiday with Thomas Cook tomorrow evening (Sunday). Obviously it looks like this isn't going to happen.

Should I be contacting Thomas Cook myself or are they expected to get in touch with me beforehand?

On their webpage they claim that they'll contact you. But currently their flights aren't officially cancelled for tomorrow yet - you may need to wait until they anounce it. Also, I imagine that they're very very busy at the moment - so who knows when they'll get around to contacting you.

No harm in contacting them - you may be able to rebook inadvance - each company is dealing with this is ther own way.

Due to fly to Las Vegas Monday morning from Gatwick with Virgin Atlantic.

We booked the hotel + flights together via eBookers.

We were going to travel to Gatwick tomorrow lunchtime and stay in a travellodge overnight - that's £50 each down the swanny already.

I took out a travel insurance policy with Aviva but only covers 19th April to 29th.

    What will happen now?

Are you sure the policy wasn't valid from the date you took it out, policy start date and travel date are usually different.
  • Hi guys,

    HELP!!!

I am due to fly from Leeds Bradford Airport to Girona on Monday the 19th April with Ryanair at 13.55pm. Ryanair have cancelled flights until 13.00 on this day, however it looks increasingly unlikely that there'll be any flights on Monday.

I am a little unsure of what to do, I have tried contacting my tour operator and Ryanair for advise both by telephone and email without any success. I feel like I am limbo, as I am sure a lot of people do.

It says on my online account on Ryanair that my flights are to be changed and to log-in to that section of the site to change flights however on this page it says that i cannot change flights as i have already checked in. Further I do not want to change flights really if by some miracle they do happen to operate.

Also what happens should there be no flights on Monday at all, am i entitled to a full refund from my tour operator (Sun4u). Should I continue to try and contact them prior to my flight or wait until after it has been cancelled.

Four years I have been waiting for a holiday! I sense that this may be my fault, things like this always seem to happen to me!... sorry guys!

  • Spoke with Virgin customer services today, first lady put me on hold:mad::mad: when I got through to 2nd lady 2 hours 23 minutes had passed, due to the present situation I didn't think this was bad to be honest I was so pleased to speak with someone who was so kind and willing to help with this awful situation.:T

My daughter and her friend were due to depart San Francisco for Heahtrow Airport today, within minutes kind CS lady changed their flights to Friday,:j (confirmation email received within 10 minutes) and informed me they must go to the airport today meet with the Virgin Rep who will give them accommodation details, all meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) will also be included.:j

Keeping my fingers crossed this will all materialize, will know definate outcome approx 10pm (2pm San Francisco time).

If your flight is cancelled you will get a link in an email to apply for a refund or re-route. I'd wait for an announcement. You won't be able to get a refund until the flight is cancelled, so ryanair won't have anything to tell you till then.

I am probably the only person hoping not to fly tmw. i have booked a replacement holiday to cornwall, nice private hot tub etc for £270 for a week (sleeps 8). Looks like Britian's seaside will boom these next two weeks! Hopefully the holiday we were dur to take tmw will be resscheduled for another week.

I know I might be worrying for nothing, but I'm due to fly to the USA on the 29th April from Manchester.

What's the likelihood of things being clear by then?
