I am a Bridezilla and my confession is........that our guests are seriously p***ing me off! We are getting married on Rhodes in September and therefore sent invites out very early with an RSVP date of 24th December (in the hope of getting lots of Christmas cards with the RSVP cards) but the majority of people haven't replied yet! Some that have replied are saying they can't plan their holidays that far ahead and will have to let me know nearer the time.
Which is all well and good when 2 or 3 or 4 people do that! BUT NOT WHEN 20 OF THEM ARE DOING IT AND I MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE MY VENUE BECAUSE IT ONLY HOLDS MAX 46 PEOPLE!
And I already know it is selfish of me to have my wedding abroad in the first place, but that's why I've given people 10 months notice! Why can't any of them think that I might need some definite numbers more than 2 f'ing weeks before the date!?!?!? Grrr.
Rant over.
Wow, we're getting married in Rhodes in June this year and we're sending our invited out this week! Now I'm worried they're late!! And our RSVP by date is the 28th Feb! Although we don't know where the reception will be yet, we're still deciding! xsaving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
We're 29% of the way there...0 -
Joho, do the majority of your guests who haven't replied, work?
Just thinking that if their holidays don't start til January (or even April in some cases), they may not have been able to book the time off before the end of the year so wouldn't be able to let you know for definite whether they would be able to attend or not.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Am I justified in being a wee bit miffed that H2B's mum has bought an outfit in the exact same colours as the bridesmaids are wearing? "Oh I didnt know that that was the theme" despite being told in an email about 2 months ago:mad:0

I think that'd be cool!
My Mum wore a jacket in the same colour as my daughters bridesmaid dress and she had the same colour in her skirt too. The blokes had the same colour for their ties and they all tied in nicely!
Don't you don't get on with the future MIL, is that what it is really?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I almost accidently bought a dress for a wedding in the same colour as the bridesmaids the other day!!! Thankfully something told me I shouldn't buy it, and halfway home in the car I remembered it was the colour! Phew!
I'm not sure I'd want anyone in the same colour, but I wouldn't want them clashing. I'm having cadburys purple, so Mum was thinking of lilac, which I think would be ok.
Could your OH have a little chat with MIL2B and suggest she changes her outfit?First date 10.2.2002

Wedding 9.4.2012
Baby #1 due 26.2.2014 :j0 -
Originally I'd planned to wear purple myself, in a dark shade, with BM in a short dress in a different shade. I suggested to guests they may want to avoid purple but one friend suggested they all wear purple and I could pretend I was grander having a huge string of bridesmaids! I love purple but don't particularly want it looking like an explosion in a Cadbury's factory!0

I just always thought that the bride, groom, best man and bridesmaids should all tie in with theme colours, and that the rest of the bridal party should complement this, but not be the exact same. My preference would be that the mothers wore something that fitted in, but wasnt the same. Thats what my mum is doing. Each to their own, but not what I would have preferred.0 -

There aren't any rules about who should wear what, but if it's gonna bug you maybe have a word with her? Or go and have a look at her outfit, as it may not be as bad as you think?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
